The Bungalow is a great space in a mostly residential neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Olympia. The description offered was accurate; the bungalow was clean and comfortable. The bed is especially cozy and the full kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. I much prefer staying in a place such as this over any hotel.
Ellen's house was beautiful and in a great location. We really loved our experience in olympia and will be back soon!
Just the location I needed and definitely unique with craftsman style. Check in and out was seamless.
I was uncomfortable with the security aspect. There is an attached studio that was unlocked that could easily afford access to anyone who wanted to. The place also felt a bit worn out and tired, though tidy enough. Probably not a great place for allergy sufferers, I woke up with a massive headache. In fairness, the Cottage doesn't claim to be hypoallergenic and I didn't think to ask the hosts when I made reservations.
Ellen's cottage was really lovely! A very quiet and peaceful place - exactly what we were looking for! It was easy to find and within walking distance of downtown Olympia. Ellen was very accommodating with our schedule, which we really appreciated. Would definitely want to stay here again next time we are in Olympia!
While I didn't meet my host in person, they were in contact right from the start by email or phone. They live remotely from the cottage, so it was private.
Ellen's place was perfect for us. It was quiet, private, well equipped, comfortable, and close to downtown.
House was exactly as described. Great communication. Would return again.
Loved the bungalow! Plenty of room for three adults. Close to downtown but feels secluded.
We had a wonderful stay at Ellen's place - it is like a little oasis in the city. It is perfect walking distance to downtown and a beautiful, longer walk to the Farmer's market. We even stayed in the first night and just got groceries, used the kitchen and played board games. It was too nice to not stay in and enjoy it for the night. Absolutely can't wait to stay again.
The Cottage was very comfortable - just as described and just what we needed after a long day of travel. We really appreciated the fixings for coffee first thing in the morning and also Ellen's simple instructions for check-in, using the house's amenities, and check-out. Only wish we had more time to experience the lovely garden area and covered porch. Definitely will return if we stay in Olympia.
Ellen and Derick were wonderful- they even put up with a small party in the living room that our other musician friends had after a concert. It was nice to see Ellen and Derick watching the sunset on the deck after a bike ride.
Ellen and her family stayed with us for a couple of nights in our wilderness cabin outpost; they were friendly and self sufficient and we enjoyed having them visit. Five stars all around including well-behaved kids and interesting chats.
We loved having Ellen and Kirk as guests in our home this past weekend. They are a delightful couple, comfortable to be around, easy to talk to, and conscientious when it comes to leaving everything neat and tidy.
We would love to host them again in the future and can recommend them wholeheartedly.
