See you soon then :-)
This was such a comfortable place to stay! It was in a very quiet neighborhood but still close to the nice restaurants in Seminyak and Kerobokan. We would certainly recommend it and would use it again on our next Bali vacation.
Nick and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It's also a family-friendly place, with both our 1 and 3 year olds having a great time.
The mosquitos were not bad at all for us, but it has been dry in Bali recently. Having a refrigerator and microwave was wonderful.
Although very comfortable there are some quirks to be aware of:
The bathrooms are wet rooms. Its common to have the floors wet and slippery from the shower. Dishes are washed in non-potable water, so just make sure they are dry before using. The maid will come in and clean every morning but is used to working around you. This is an open-air Balinese concept home. Only the bedrooms are closed in and air conditioned. The family room, dining room and kitchen are all open to the outside (creating potential for mosquito bites and warm afternoons).
The pool had good shade in the morning and afternoon, but was quite sunny in the heat of the day. The top step of the pool was a perfect depth for our toddler to play (with adult supervision of course). The optional pool fence was sturdy and made the yard much safer for the kids.
The yard is very quiet and private. It was nice to be able to take a quick private swim to cool off day or night!
Highly recommend it!
The description and pictures are just as the place itself. If you are looking for a place near the Seminyak buzz, but still away from it, that is the place to book. It is ideal for 3 couples or a family. We were there with 11 months old baby and it worked very well. Nick prepaired everything from cot to highchair. The only problem for us were mosquitos but that is really not a thing you can claim about, it's normal. The rooms are nice, the kitchen works well, the garden is very cute, the pool could be updated, but still, it offers a very welcoming refreshment. Nick, you have a lovely house and your staff is very helpful and kind.
We had a great week at nick's villa . The place was as beautiful on the photos as in real life . If you're after a quieter section of seminyak and Travelling with a young family this is the place for you .b
The place is clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay and the communication with nick and staff were good. At first night, we had an electricity problem so we had to wait until 1 am for the lights turn on. But overall we love everything about the villa. Definitely will come back and recommend it to our friends
We had a great stay at Nick's villa! Exactly what we were after, it was a private and peaceful home to simply relax. We spent a lot of time in enjoying the pool surrounded by its lush tropical garden. Big thanks to Cynthia and her team for breakfast, we're still missing your mango smoothies!
We had a lovely stay at Villa Bali Cocoon with our 10 month old baby. A pool fence, cot, mosquito net and high chair were provided which was fantastic for our baby as she is very mobile and it meant we could relax a bit more around the pool.
The villa has a beautiful garden and lovely furnishings. It was very clean and tidy and attended by a maid for cleaning and optional breakfast everyday except Sundays. They provided a local phone which was really handy to get in contact with their driver, make reservations or order food delivered to the villa.
Nick was a fantastic host, always easy to get in contact with and even allowed us a late check out so our baby could have a sleep before heading to the airport for an overnight flight!
The location of the villa was about a 15 minute walk to the main street of Seminyak. Currently the road is under construction so there are lots of holes, dust and no real footpath to walk down. If it was just my husband and I we would have managed ok but it was impossible to push our baby in a stroller down this street so we mainly had to take a taxi when we wanted to go out.
A beautiful Bali villa and the perfect place for families with young children.
My wife and I and our 2 year old stayed at nicks villa for a week. The place itself was perfect- big space, afternoon sun, refreshing pool, super clean rooms and areas, comfy couch, good hot water and quiet nights. The staff, Kedak and Cinta, were lovely and so helpful- even repairing some clothes. Breakfast each morning was nice and relaxing. My only qualm was not the place but location- they were doing roadworks out the front and the road was very congested and taxis occasionally hard to get. We were only always a $3 taxi from most places but with a little one we spent a bit too long in taxis getting to and from Seminyak and beaches. But that's only a small issue. We really enjoyed our week at the villa.
Beautiful villa with very nice staff!! Special thanks to Cyntia and Kadek, who made a huge & nutricious breakfast every morning. All ingredients were present for a memorable 3-week holiday in Bali. Make use of the taxi app to secure a taxi at the villa or spend few minutes hailing one at the main road a few hundred meters from the villa. Merci et au revoir!
We had a wonderful stay at Villa cocoon. It was really well set up for our family of 2 adults and 3 children aged 1, 5 and 7. The villa was very safe, clean and quiet. We especially liked the pool fence for our toddler.
We didn't meet Nick but he was very responsive with our queries and his helpful assistant Remie visited us most days. The lovely housekeepers Cinthya, Kedak and Nyoman kept the villa absolutely perfctly clean and cooked a delightful breakfast each day for a small additional fee. The housekeepers also helped organise our laundry to be washed and delivered back the next day for only a few dollars - we wish we had this service at home! The ladies were so friendly and kind.
The beds, sheets, towels, pillows were also resort standard and very very good.
The location isn't in the main, noisy part of Seminyak but that is what we wanted! It only costs $1-3AUD to catch a taxi to the popular restaurants, beaches and bars. It is handy to use the local mobile phone the villa supplies to call a taxi, otherwise its not too difficult to flag down a taxi on the main road about 150m from the villa.
We found a few nice restaurants and good coffee (crema coffee) around the corner however mostly caught taxis to the main part of Seminyak to eat. We also had food delivered.
There aren't really any down sides to this place! The pool is quite cool as it doesn't get direct sun for most of the day but our children didn't mind and spent most of their days swimming.
Thanks for a fantastic stay!
Our trip was unforgettable and having a great host was icing on the cake!
Nick made our first Airbnb experience exceptional! He was warm and accommodating of all our questions prior to our arrival. When we got there, he sat down with us and helped us plot our itinerary. His suggestions were truly helpful and we're glad to have stayed in this charming and quiet villa, indeed.
