Lauren's place is gorgeous. If you are looking to stay in a giant old Southern house, this is it. Coming from NY this is place a mansion to me. My husband and I stayed for a couple nights in town for a friend's wedding so we didn't get spend much time in the house, but we were very comfortable -- slept like rocks in our cozy bed. We met Lauren for a few minutes and then she was off for the weekend. She was very welcoming and had lots of helpful tips ready for us. I understand there are other occupants but we hardly saw anyone, so it was like having a giant house to ourselves. We felt really good about the neighborhood and walked to great restaurants and bars. Great spot, great host, recommend!
Lauren is a wonderful, accommodating host who was so sweet to leave a key out for me (with detailed instructions) when my flight arrived after midnight.
Her house is beautiful and well decorated and the bed is comfortable. However, I will also restate what other guests have said- it's an old house that feels like student housing in terms of updates and cleaning. It felt more like sleeping at a college friend's (admittedly gorgeous) place than being at a bnb. If you're looking for an affordable room downtown (in a house with lots of character and charm!) and aren't too picky about cleanliness, this is the place for you. If you're looking for something more formal, you might consider paying a bit more to stay elsewhere. I would say it really just depends on your personality and what you're looking for.
Lauren's home was the perfect accommodation for our trip! We loved the space, and my boyfriend loved to see the Buffalo Trace bourbon cream bottles used as decorations in the home:) Lauren was a wonderful host; she made us feel welcome and even allowed us to enjoy beers from the fridge upon arrival to help take the stress of driving there away. Our second night it was sort of chilly out, but there were a bunch of extra blankets in the closet to keep warm. Thank you, Lauren!!
Lauren was great! Very accommodating, even offered a few suggestions for bars/restaurants in the area. Her house is within walking distance to several great Lexington bars and coffee shops, and the neighborhood is safe. My stay was perfect--I only regret that I didn't have more time.
Staying with Lauren was great! The house is beautiful and I loved the clawfoot tub in the bathroom. I only met Lauren briefly, but she was lovely and if I'd had more time, she was quite willing to take me on a horseback ride. Instead, she made sure I was able to get into the house okay when she wasn't there and that I made it to the Keeneland track the next day without a problem.
A really nice house in a cool location a short walk from downtown Lexington. All of the amenities were as advertised, although the wifi was having some issues the night I stayed.
Great house/room, in a great location. Lauren is a good one, super help full, 10/10.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Lauren was an amazing host. Very communicative by phone and proactive about making sure I was all set with the stay. The room itself was comfortable and had air conditioning to handle the 90 degree summers in the Lex! Would certainly stay here again on future visits.
My girlfriend and I drove to Lexington on a whim, not knowing much of the city. Lauren's house is in a fantastic location, near all the places our friends recommend we visit. The house itself was gorgeous and huge, inside and out. Lauren was so great with correspondence, despite being away that weekend. Highly recommended.
Pretty awesome is an understatement. If you want to see the best sunsets, drink the best coffee, and meet the best people, this is your host.
Lauren is a very active and engaging! She is well traveled and understands first hand the adventurous spirit. I can't imagine a better host for activities in Lexington. Even if she is not here personally she is most always available to answer questions via text or phone. Her home is centrally located downtown, walking distance to several local craft breweries and and the Rupp Arena.
