We were very happy in Tina's apartment. It had plenty of room for our family of three to relax, a good-sized kitchen (with the pots, pans, utensils, etc. which we needed), and it was only about 25 minutes from Times Square by bus. Tina herself was very personable and helpful when we had questions. I would be happy to stay at her apartment again.
Thanks Bret! It was great hosting you guys! Hope you enjoyed nyc! Would be happy to host you again.
Tina was very nice to us since the first day we contact her.
The apartment is quite nice, it has great new wood floors and the location is very good, especially because we spent our days in Manhattan. Very easy commute. The bus stops right in front of the building. There is a great supermarket one block up the street.
About the neighborhood, we came home one night at around 1 pm and the bus was full. We felt very safe.
The main bedroom is spacious and accommodated us very well. It has a small but functional kitchen.
Our overall experience was great!!!!
Thanks Priscilla! It was great hosting your party! Let me know whenever you need another stay!
Our host was very nice for a "rookie" landlord, offered advice about certain events and other help if we needed and, she even provided numbers for taxis that do the airport run for our return trip home. When you visit New York on vacation, you do not expect to indulge in excess sleeping which is sometimes part of vacations for some, especially teenagers. But you do want your sleeping to be comfortable enough to take on the city as a tourist. On this point, we were disappointed that our two daughters did not have comfortable sleeping beds (one a "futon" type mattress and the other a sofa bed that had a worn pad and missing springs).
According to the unit's advertisement, another of our expectations was the cooking utensils. One reason we chose an condo/apartment rental was to allow for some cooking for the morning meals and some snacking. Unfortunately, the pots had deteriorating coatings and posed health hazards if used and therefore were unusable except for one copper pressure cooker. The apartment needed cleaning, it was dusty, the carpets while not filthy were stained. I think with a little investment from this landlord on fixing and cleaning some of items mentioned it would be worth the reasonable price for a week stay in New York, even if it was West New York, New jersey.
Tina kept the apartment clean and was very easy to deal with. She had a cool and easy going personality, was good with communication. Easy and respectfull tenant. Welcome back anytime!
Tina and her family stayed 2 nights at my place. They were tidy and serious, but quite demanding. I think i did my best to satisfy their needs but still i was asked to do more. I hope your stay was great.
