Lisa and Dave made us feel incredible welcome and the breakfast was beyond yumi! Perfectly located for anything in Pittsboro. Great bed. Cozy fun place.
friendly, enthusiastic cook and hostess...the grounds are lovely, well kept, and have a country , peaceful feel. Lisa is happy to make your stay enjoyable, going out of her way to accommodate.
We felt a little cramped in the double bed [it's one side is against a wall so I had to climb over my husband to get in], but would, nevertheless,go back as a couple for a short stay and as a single I would be happy there for several days in her smaller unit....great shower and comfy deck chairs.
Her other units are larger so we'll try one of those soon.
Breakfast was first rate, several healthy and different choices and cooked to order. She serves in a lovely cafe with both inside and outside seating
Lisa and Dave were exceptional hosts and even helped us out when our car had a flat tyre! The b&b is really unique, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast that comes with the room is amazing and already worth the stay. I would always stay there again and can fully recommend this b&b!
We were so comfortable and well taken care of. It was even better than we expected. Gracious hosts and excellent food, this was the respite we were looking for and would certainly come back again.
What a great experience! The Treehouse Unit was exactly what I had hoped for, and the entire "property" was more than I could have expected. I got an email from Lisa the day before my arrival, indicating that I was being upgraded to the cottage, but when I explained that I preferred the Treehouse, I was switched back without hesitation. Cozy...comfortable...perfect! Wandered across the yard to the cafe in the morning. The lemon ricotta honeycakes were AMAZING! I strolled around, took photographs around the property, and enjoyed a few more cups of coffee before I headed just down the road to Pittsboro, which is a delightful and unique enclave. I hope to return. Highly recommend!
Wonderful as always!!! Comfortable, clean, beautiful. Oh and awesome food. Five or even six stars in my opinion. Highly recommend. Oh and for us this is important, it's affordable. Thank you!!
What a great find! Lovely place with gracious hosts. And an amazing breakfast to go with it! As well, there is an amazing farm to table restaurant for dinner about a mile away. A win, win, win kind of place. We will definitely return soon!
My friend and I loved staying here during our North Carolina road trip. Lisa was extremely welcoming and accommodating to us and my friend's golden retriever. Pittsboro was great small town and we were able to walk to dinner. The room was lovely and having outdoor space was awesome. The complimentary breakfast the next morning at Lisa and Dave's cafe was excellent!! We both strongly recommend staying here.
I'm not sure I can put into words how great this place truly is, but I hope to do my best. I was looking for a weekend respite that wasn't too far away from where I live, but worlds apart from my reality as a frazzled mom of 5... and I found it & so much more at Small. There is a beautifully simple peace about this place that draws you in and makes it so difficult to leave.
Lisa & Dave are friendly, courteous & laid-back eclectic hosts... and it was so easy to relax and reset during my 2-night stay in their Woodshed unit -- a former UNC exhibit made even more special with little unique touches they've added throughout. Pictures don't do any of it justice -- so much more has been added since these were taken... and Dave & Lisa have turned their property into such a special, small place that feels like it's own big little world right in the heart of Pittsboro. At times, I had the place all to myself & could take it all in, hanging out on some of Dave's creations & listening to nature while I read or took photos. During others, I was fortunate to be part of the crowd of cafe patrons & it was really wonderful watching the locals interact with Dave & Lisa & vice-versa -- you can tell they are loved by the community and the feeling is so mutual... like watching old friends, rather than owners & customers.
I could go on and on, but I'll try to hit a few more high points and hope it's enough of a glimpse for anyone considering a stay... which shouldn't even be a question -- just do it and find out how special the Small B&B is! The room was a cozy mix of old and new that made me feel welcome. I loved the simple decor and industrial touches... and the hosts were kind and accommodating throughout. But the food is what seals the deal... really! Small's menu is so big in so many ways, and it was easy to find something new to try and love every day -- especially their inventive wildcard options . I heard others mention favorites, and quickly found one of my own -- French toast made with orange flower water, cardamom & pistachios... yum-- so I'm sure you will, too. So much of their food/ingredients is sourced locally as well... even better!
I had such a great experience, and found such a simple & satisfying peace there -- I couldn't wait to get back. So much so, that I just stayed there again this weekend with my husband in the Treehouse unit so he could soak up a little of Small, walk about Pittsboro, & see for himself why it will always hold a special place in my heart. :)
Thanks, Lisa & Dave -- I needed this more than you know!
What a great stay! Lisa responded quickly to my booking request and made checking-in easy. The space was clean and comfortable, just as described. And breakfast in the morning was delicious! Would definitely stay again.
Dave was a great guest. He was friendly and respectful. Hardly knew he was here and very considerate of the room/house. I would highly recommend Dave and Lisa to any Airbnb host.
My only complaint was that I didn't get to meet this fine couple in person! We have many affinities in common. I hope they'll return when we can all sit around over a cup of tea or glass of wine and swap stories and visions.
