Susan was a very attentive host. She offered suggestions of places to see and things to do in the area. She also turned us onto things that we were not aware of that made the weekend all the more special. We felt extremely safe in her neighborhood. We definitely recommend people bringing a bike for renting a bike or just enjoy seeing the town on foot as we did. It rained a majority of the time we were there but we still ended up having a fun time!
Susan is a wonderful host -- warm, knowledgable about the area, and fun-loving. Her home was close to Taylor's Creek (the best kayak launching spot on the coast), as well as within walking distance of Beaufort's quaint waterfront.
What an interesting host! Susan is a wealth of knowledge on the natural wonders of Beaufort. She can answer your questions about tides, birds, plant and marine life plus direct you to nearby boat launches, marshes and beaches. Her place is in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet a mere 5 minutes from it all. She provided us with an assortment of light breakfast options plus coffee and tea. She even brought us cut up watermelon. You will enjoy her company and her sweet dog Kiwi.
We had a great time staying at Susan's lovely apartment. She was very hospitable and friendly, and even gave us some grapes and watermelon. Beafort is a nice little town close to the beach. I highly recommend staying at Susan's if you are in town.
