I have lived in NYC for 11 years now. I moved out here for school. I studied Interior Design at FIT. I worked for an architect for 2 years, then a developer for a year and then I transitioned into branding and marketing. As I am a creative and curious person, I also freelanced and volunteered in between for film festivals and Non-profits. 4 years ago I became a birth doula and have been fairly active in the field of women’s health and advocacy in between freelance design and branding gigs. It is my hopes that this January I will become a student again as I am applying to NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. I want to study Gender Politics within Healthcare and Medicine through the lens of the arts and media.
I am a very respectful and laid back person with a fun personality. I can hold a conversation with pretty much any one on various genres but can also be very laid back, quiet with a book in hand, or my ipod on. I music tastes include Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, 90's rock, classical music, old school R&B and jazz. So women have a thing for shoes, I have a thing for books. Though I am pretty tech savy, I can't see my self purchasing a kindle. I love books, esp. history, science, old ones or books I find with previous owner's notes. Movies; I love action films and romantic comedies. I love the ocean, helping people and creating things.
