Case and Anton's place is beautiful - just like you see in the listing.
The location was ideal, so close to everything, and the house was so cozy. Everything was awesome and they were perfect hosts. 10/10! Thanks again!
The host canceled this reservation 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Case is an amazing host, and his space has the most beautiful energy. It is evident that he takes amazing care of this house and has set it up as a little dreamy haven that feels more like something you can spend all your days in... rather than as an escape. It was a magical few days.
Case was a great host and was able to accommodate us at the last minute. The outdoor area was a huge plus and its a perfect location for exploring the Venice area.
Our host decided to travel to India during our stay. Our first experience in his AK bungalow, after midnight: We opened the front door, found no light switch by the door, spent the next hour fumbling around trying to find a light source. Found a power strip switch (on the floor) for a standing spotlight lamp, but intermittent electrical connections and old intermittent switches delayed success and were hazardous! We faced other challenges : the freezing cold with no adequate warm comforters, beds made-up with unclean bedding, old weak furnace (unable to heat the house even if left on all night at full blast), inadequate lighting, old and difficult to use kitchen stove (no pilot so had to start with a match), no toaster or hot water kettle (instead, one dangerously heavy unwieldy pan - the other pan was scratched up teflon, unusable!), no furniture in the bedrooms besides the mattresses directly on the floor, no rugs, no bedside table or lamp, or shelves or chairs, or anywhere to set toiletries, toothbrushes, etc. in the bathroom. Very little closet space next to host's clothing. Thank heaven our son and daughter live in the area....we borrowed warm comforters, sheets, towels, lamps, and space heaters. Good thing I brought an egg beater and whisk (had to make banana cream pies for the big Christmas dinner the next day! ) Our daughter provided her pre-baked crusts, thank heaven, since the oven was old and looked totally unusable. All this on the night we arrived, as well as all the lighting and heating problems! Also, there was an intermittent but continuous horrible "sewer" odor permeating the house, all through the 5 days, and especially at night! We slept poorly throughout our stay, to say the least!
Please inquire about the current conditions before making a reservation! If night temperatures are below 50-deg F. be sure that space heaters and additional comforters have been provided for bed rooms. Also, ask whether you will have a local 24x7 host to help with unexpected problems.
As you can see in their photos, there are some positives:
Morning light and light airy space in living-dining space - All walls are white.
Location is good; access to parking, Abbot Kinney and beaches.
The ample supply of bottled drinking water.
The ample supply of hot water for showering. However, be prepared to set all toiletries, make-up, etc., on the floor in the bathroom. No shelves, or any other raised surfaces aside from tiny sink and toilet. There are only two hooks for towels.

Case has a fantastic space. My girlfriend and I loved the location. Being right off Abbot Kinney, we were able to shop, eat and enjoy some of the best coffee around.
Case was the best host ever! His house is charming and clean as can be, it's perfectly located to AK and he was very flexible and nice to deal with. I had to switch around my dates very last minute due to work, and he didn't hesitate for a minute to let me stay a different night than originally planned. Overall, I had a lovely experience and I highly recommend this little bungalow!
I LOVED this little bungalow! It was a perfect location (1 block walk from Abbot Kinney, 2-3 blocks from the beach), and the house had a lovely, peaceful vibe to it. Case was a thoughtful and accommodating host, and it was a pleasure to meet him. I was initially concerned with on-street parking so close to AK, but I did not have a problem finding spots outside the house every day. I would definitely wish to stay here again!
The apartment is even more attractive than in the pictures, which was hard to believe. It is the quintessential tasteful Los Angeles escape pad. Case is responsive, the apartment was clean, full of light, great location, quiet, comfortable sleeping, with wi-fi and stereo... and great art.
We had a wonderful vacation at Case's place and couldn't have felt more welcome! Right in the center of Venice Beach and steps away of Abbot Kinney just two blocks from the beach. The kitchen (great if you like to cook), projector, and garden are great additions to very well organized space.
To conclude: Highly recommended !!!
Absolutely no problem with Case, really good communication from the beginning to the end of his stay, and he took really good care of our place. Case, you're welcome again if you come back in Paris!
All good. Smooth exchanges. Easy going. Cool guy.
