Very nice upstairs apartment. Only 20 minute walk from Capital Hill, museums, etc... Renovated apartment with 10 ft. ceilings and handy kitchen. Very responsive pty. manager. Parking on street via permit was great!
Only complaint was that air conditioner was loud, but it really worked well and the noise drowned out the street noise so it was great for sleeping. Also, one wall needs plaster and paint repair.
Highly recommend and would return.
The condo appears to have been recently renovated although we had a couple of difficulties. The electricity went out in the apartment for a 1-2 hours late at night and scared us especially since it was hot that day and we were afraid we would have to spend the night in the apartment w no air conditioning. We were told that a technician wouldn't be available until the morning, but luckily the electricity came back on. The sleeper sofa had a thin mattress and my kids complained about how uncomfortable it was to sleep on. You could really feel the springs when you slept on it. In the bathroom the towel rack was loose on one side and totally fell out of the wall during our stay. the shower curtain was flimsy and one of the rings was accidentally pulled out by simply pulling the curtain to the side. the host initially wanted us to pay for the towel rack and shower curtain but when we explained the situation of how they came apart he didn't charge us for the items. In the future i would advise anyone encountering this type of situation to take pictures and let your host know immediately the problem in case the host is not already aware of any malfunctioning equipment/furniture.
the neighborhood appears to be undergoing a lot of renovations with a mix of older and recently renovated homes. across the street is a park/cemetary. some parts are nice, and some parts especially closer to the metro seem a little scary. I would avoid walking home at night. the metro is about a 5-10 min walk. for adults it's not bad, but with little kids it gets a little tiring.
the beds in the main bedroom are comfortable and all of the furnishings appear new and nice. the view from the backyard is nice. the private parking space is awesome.
We had a great time at this location! Had everything we needed, and Adam at the store across the street was awesome! Walked to all of the July 4th events, Eastern Market, and Union Station. My brother use to live nearby, so it was great to see the sites and live like a local at the same time. We loved the brochures and coupons to the city sites as well! Will be back for sure...
The house is quite nice, even though the walls and floors are a bit beat up. The beds are very comfortable and wide, and each floor has it's own kitchen and breakfast table, which is great. Also, the large dinner table is great for large groups.
The upstairs bathroom shower is a bit on the useless side - since very little water comes out, and sometimes none at all.
The host was a bit inattentive; toilet paper ran out pretty quickly, and when we asked for more, we were told to make do with what we were given. Also, we were given a phone number for Mr. Chiazo (I assume, the administrator) who would only answer the phone after a few tries.
Finally, the cleaning service was a bit of a scam. We requested daily cleaning - for which we were charged roughly $200 dollars a day - and barely received cleaning at all. The cleaners only made the beds, the house was still dirty after they came, and all the towels were still wet and in the same place where we left them. After that we cancelled the second and third day of cleaning, although I probably wouldn't blame the owner.
In general, our stay was pretty good, the house is pretty and in a more or less central location (close to a subway station and lots of shops, but not close to the National Mall or museums), but the attention we received was sub standard.
The host was contactable prior to the trip and the house turned out as it was described and my friends and I are all very satisfied with this accommodation. A friendly neighbourhood and the apartment was very well maintained. Only down side is that the metro stations are slightly far away from the accommodation
The host was great about leaving clear instructions of getting in and leaving the place. The place was very clean and comfortable. The Mall was about a 15-20 minute walk. If you don't have a car restaurants and grocery stores are limited.
Everything was perfect. Great house and location. Short walk to the metro. Shops are even closer. About 15min from the front door and you are in the heart of Washington. For 7 of us the house was perfect. You could be alone or we could be communal in the dinning room.
Had a great time. This location was perfect for us. Within walking distance of the Metro, Target, and a grocery store. All the comforts of home at the end of the day. I would definitely stay again.
The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This Penthouse was great for price, size, and location. As we all know is pretty pricey and this gem worked perfectly for our 7 adult size. The common areas are spacious and very clean. The rooms were a bit tight; however, we didn't spend much time there since we were out sight-seeing. We did have issues with the internet when we checked in. Lois and Chiazo were very responsive, and helped get the issue resolved. Just to note: there are no elevators on this premises. But other than that, the place was wonderful! Thank you Chiazo and Lois.
