This Penthouse was great for price, size, and location. As we all know is pretty pricey and this gem worked perfectly for our 7 adult size. The common areas are spacious and very clean. The rooms were a bit tight; however, we didn't spend much time there since we were out sight-seeing. We did have issues with the internet when we checked in. Lois and Chiazo were very responsive, and helped get the issue resolved. Just to note: there are no elevators on this premises. But other than that, the place was wonderful! Thank you Chiazo and Lois.
The apartment is very well furnished and well equipped. However, the beds and sofa beds are not very comfortable. The air conditioning systems in the bedroom doesn't seem to be working well which resulted in the room being very "stuffy".
It is located pretty near to sight seeing sites around Washington DC.
The parking lot in the private garage is not easily located. It is a sudden turn into a small road where many would mistook it as a normal alleyway.
Capital First is a management company that seems to own and rent multiple properties around the Washington area. I booked this specific 2-bedroom property more than 2 months in advance on AirBnb to host my family in the same neighborhood with all of my other wedding guests during my wedding weekend. When I emailed them a few days before check-in to arrange logistics, they had accidentally double-booked and told me that the apartment was actually not available. This was obviously a huge inconvenience and very stressful because it was quite a busy weekend and accommodation was difficult to come by in Washington because of four different universities celebrating graduation. Hotel rooms nearby were averaging between $400-$500 per night. Also, perhaps because they are a company, it seems that they were not responding to phone, text, or email after 6pm. Capital First initially offered to put my family in another property they owned, which is more than half an hour away by car and in a much less popular and less central neighborhood, and I refused. If I had not been from DC and known the city's neighborhoods, I would have felt a very duped at their description of the location of the alternate accommodation had I taken it. Fortunately, after quite a few conversations and delays, they rectified the situation by organizing a queen suite hotel room in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood. Although it wasn't two bedrooms, it was a fix that accommodated my family well, and Capital First covered the extra cost for this more expensive option. To be honest, with all of the communications trouble and the mistake of the double booking, I will be very hesitant in the future to arrange an AirBnB booking with a property that's listed by a company. This incident, though it was ultimately fixed by the host, added many hours of stress to an extremely busy wedding preparation week. The folks at Capital First, particularly Chiazo, were incredibly nice. However, after looking back on it, it would've been easier, less stressful, and less time- consuming if I had insisted that they properly cancel my reservation and issue a refund as per AirBnB guidelines so that I could have booked a hotel on my own. That proper cancellation/refund was never offered by Capital First, and I took the hotel rebooking offer with crossed fingers that it would work out, and fortunately it did, though my family was separated from the rest of our wedding party. Overall, I think this was an anomaly with Capital First, but I highly encourage them to work a bit more diligently to cross-check and double check their booking calendars for their apartment rentals, particularly if they are using multiple listing sites.
Great location, awesome store across the steet, close to everything. The store doesn't look like much from the outside but they have a great beer selection and a lot of grocery items. Bus stop is like 50ft from the house. Place was clean and we'll maintained.
Great location and clean home! Had a great time! Thanks!
This apartment was in a vibrant neighborhood with an easy walk to the Metro. We were comfortable in the aparment and found the manager responsive when we had a minor issue with the fire alarm. All in all, a good experience!
We had a great experience here. There were 2 adults and 4 kids and we had plenty of space for everyone. The condo was newly renovated and beautiful. The only piece of advice, if you use the washer and dryer keep in mind it took almost 2 hours to dry a normal sized load. Also, the alley to the private parking in the back was a tad hard to find but nice secure parking spaces. There is a very nice full kitchen but didn't have a lot of options as far as pots and pans but we made due with what we had All in all, we had a great time and would rent with Capital First again. Thanks
Beautiful place, Very clean, there is 4 levels so it's very spacious
