a happy easy-going family that enjoys hosting in their tropical jungle home
Due to a problem in our travel schedule we were unable to stay with Miriam, but she communicated with us very promptly and professionally and we look forward to staying with her in the future.
Unfortunately we were not able to make our trip because our dog was sick. Miriam was extremely kind and understanding, and she even offered to refund a portion of our payment. We are looking forward to staying with her in the very near future.
This was a wonderful, unique experience from the welcome cocktail to the last goodbye. You are welcomed by the entire family as a special guest. We did not have enough time to do all the things that were available. Miriam's food is great!! Much of it fresh from their farm. Staying in the treehouse was awesome!!
Miriam, Joe and the their kids were such a joy to be around! The treehouse was beautiful and the waterfall below it made the trip very relaxing. Miriam is a fantastic cook and I would make the trip back to Belize just for dinner! We did a tour/excursion everyday we were there. One adventure was with Joe (horseback riding through the jungle to a cave) and one was with another family member of theirs Robert (cave tubing, zip lining and hiking). The whole experience was fantastic and we were sad to leave.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Miriam's tree house! Miriam and her family were very welcoming, and the meals she cooked for us were great! We went on an awesome horseback ride with her husband Joe. I'd highly recommend staying with Miriam and her family to any travelers in Belize.
This was our first experience using AirBnB and we had an absolute ball with Mariam and her wonderful family. We stayed in the tree house which was absolutely beautiful with a waterfall right underneath us. The family was very friendly and each one of them had amazing knowledge about ancient Maya and Belize in general. One thing that was a little difficult was the Wifi, but we were still able to face-time with our children every single day, twice a day. It's a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy "right now". Beautiful Mayan mountains, wonderful jungle excursions, and right away Mariam made us feel like family. I can't wait to take my twin children there when they get a little older. :)
Their house was so amazing and beautiful. Very remote which makes it beautiful; fireflies and animals all around. Their family is so hospitable and so friendly and welcoming!
Miriam and her family were absolutely wonderful. They could not have been more welcoming, kind, or knowledgable. They will make you feel at home, safe, well taken care of, and make you LAUGH. Miriam's cooking is phenomenal! We stayed in the treehouse and a cabin room, and the treehouse is by far the best experience!! This was one of the greatest places we've ever stayed!
Staying at the treehouse was a fantastic experience! Martz farm is a paradise for nature-lovers and anyone seeking a spot off the beaten path.
The treehouse was very private and secluded, yet just a stones throw away from Miriam's delicious kitchen and the restrooms. The treehouse is spacious and beautifully constructed and the waterfall lulled us into a great sleep each night.
Martz farm is Eco-friendly with candle-lit dinners and solar power in the main lodge. We could not have had a better time with the family - we even extended our stay to a full week to enjoy more of what the place had to offer. Highlights included the horseback riding with Joe, pontoon day trip with Laz and the waterfall hike with Joe's sons, Nicolas and Joshua. Their passion for what they do and the land around them shines through and creates an intimate experience that surpassed all expectations. We highly recommend to all!
We stayed with Miriam, Joe and the kids for two nights and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The Treehouse was really a once in a lifetime opportunity. We opted to take the half day horseback tour and had a great time. If you're feeling adventurous, the boys (and dogs) lead a waterfall tour which I highly recommend. All in all it was such a great experience and we couldnt thank Miriam and Joe for their hospitality.
I stayed in the Jungle hideaway treehouse at the Martz farm and can honestly say it's an unforgettable experience. Miriam, Joe and family are wonderful hosts and their property is magical. If you're looking to experience the real Belize, learn about Mayan culture, explore the jungle, this is the place. I will definitely be back!
