I am a low key & curious traveler. I enjoy new places, people and ideas. I am respectful of other people's space and appreciate the same. While I love the wilderness and wide open spaces, I really like visiting cities and being close to the action. I love to walk and use public transportation, experience all the vibrancy place has to offer. I tend to stay in one place for a while, rather than jump around a lot; I like to really get the feel of a place and try to interact like a local.
What I can't live without: despite my desire for new thrills, I can't live without a quiet space to commune in daily; whether it be in wilderness, a small garden or a light-filled empty room. I need a little yin with my yang. I have grown to depend on a hot shower once every 3-4 days and prefer them more often. I miss fresh fruit and vegetables if they are unavailable. I miss human interaction and a good laugh after 48 hours; and fresh, cold drinking water.
There are not many travel destinations I haven't liked. In no particular order, I like Cuzco and the Sacred Valley in Peru; San Juan Islands of NW US and Canada; Bali; the Big Island of Hawaii; Goa, Delhi, and Mumbai India; the California Sierra Nevada; London; Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand, Istanbul; Cannes Australia; Portland Oregon; Boston Mass.and where ever I go next.
My life motto might be "Cowabunga" or maybe, "oh, shit!"
