Everything was seamless and can't help but agree with previous positive feedback. Can be a bit noisy but only a potential issue if you were to lie in bed all day. A great all-round place to stay and experience Melbourne from!
The Aerie is a great base to explore Melbourne. Fantastic location and the cottage has all the facilities you need for a short term or long term stay. Cassandra is an excellent host. She responded to our queries very quickly and helped us out when she could, especially when we needed to stay a bit longer! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Aerie and we will remember this quirky but cool cottage very fondly.
I had a great stay at The Aerie...location, location, location!! Great little self contained place. As a female staying by myself for 5 weeks I never felt concerned for my safety.
The street/construction noise took a little getting used to so if you are really sensitive to noise remember the ear plugs.
I loved the stairs but for those with mobility issues they could be a problem, especially the last flight (quite steep).
The rooftop sitting area is great.
I stayed with my husband at the Aerie for almost 1 month and it was great. The location is excellent!! very close to QV, Victoria Market, Melbourne Central and there are some cool bars in the same block, so it was perfect us! =)
Great, unique cottage, perfectly located right in the Melbourne CBD. Well equipped place with all everyday needs, reliable & fast internet and last but most importantly, greatly helpful and friendly host Cassandra really made this a great stay. If I come back to Melbourne I wold certainly trying to book The Aerie again.
Great location in north melbourne. 10 min walk to the cbd. Large nice room with a view of the city. Cass is a great host
I generally agree with all the other reviews - great location, fun spot being up on the roof, etc. I would note that the quality of the furnishings is what I would best describe as bargain-basement. Not of concern in most instances, but as my stay was during the dead of winter, I invested in some more substantial bedding.
Fantastic value for money, excellent location (so very, very close to Melbourne Central, QV building, chinatown, etc etc!), and excellent for getting fitter with all those stairs. The building feels so secure with only a business below, and though there's a few music places nearby (and some building construction going on!) you can hear it, but somehow it's not annoyingly oppressive.
It's beyond lovely being able to stay up on a rooftop, and though the view is mainly other buildings it's awesome for people-watching, and is still so relaxing and enjoyable.
The heater and fan work perfectly, keeping both a tropical-based and a UKer content with Melbourne's constantly changing weather.
What else can I say that hasn't already been said by the other reviewers? I can only back up their claims, and say that I'm glad to have picked the Aerie for our stay!
These guys are pretty great. What you'll realise if you stay here, is that most of Tina Turner's songs are /actually/ about how great this room/landlord is.
The Aerie is arguably the best value for money short term accommodation in Melbourne. The location is fantastic and Cassandra is very laid back yet accessible if you need any help. Highly recommended!
Cassandra was friendly and respectful. I will not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.
It was a pleasure meeting Cass. She is friendly, respectful, consideration, neat & tidy. Lovely to chat with. Highly recommended as an excellent airbnb guest. Happy to have Cass back anytime.
Cassandra is a very nice young lady. Even we had a little problem with somebody else in the house, she took it with grace, never complained and was always lovely and friendly. Was a joy having her here.
Cassandra was bright, cheerful and pleasant; she's left me with an addiction to posh hot beverages I can barely afford and produced a pork belly which I would have been happy to call my own work, helpfully adding a bit of lard to my derriere. Happy to have her back anytime.
Response from Cassandra:
Nomnomnom Pork Belly! :D
Cassandra and Jeremy were a delight to have to stay. They knew we would be very busy that weekend and were very relaxed and lovely. They are welcome back any time!
Cass and Jeremy are great people to deal with in what can be stressful travel-related arrangements. They are super-organised, friendly and helpful and always reply to any queries promptly. Not that you'll have many - they seem to think of everything before you can! I'd highly recommend them as great people to deal with in the serious business of holidaying.
