Paul, Ingrid, and Cleo (our dog). As hosts we are pretty easy going. We like to see your profile so we know a bit about you before saying 'yes'. It is not that we reject anyone, just that this is a community and one of the important values is sharing, both our homes and our background. We enjoy finding out about why people are traveling, and if they like, helping them discover more about Auckland and New Zealand, which is our adopted country (we are Canadians but have lived in Auckland for over 25 years). We are originally from British Columbia, Canada.

Cleo is a Schnoodle (cross between poodle and schnauzer) and thinks we get Airbnb guests just for her enjoyment. She loves meeting new people.

Paul (as a guest): An easy guest to have around. I'm not very demanding as long as the internet works.
I mostly work, and most of my travel is for work. I am focused on making ridesharing a much greater part of daily travel, and this is pretty consuming, and probably a bit boring for those I meet who make the mistake of asking. I try to keep it succinct.
We have two adult children, our daughter is married and has a 3 year old baby girl, and they live far away in Seattle, USA, our son lives nearby in Auckland. It is cool being a grandpa and what I love most is playing peek-a-boo with my granddaughter on Skype.
Those family are the five most important, that I could not live without. And I guess my laptop since I spend lots of time using it. Though it is replaceable, and the family are not.
Books: Guns Germs and Steel, and A Short History of Almost Everything. Movies: Independent movies at the film festival, chosen by Ingrid because I would be hopeless at it.
