I'm originally from the UK - I moved over to New Zealand earlier this year, and am enjoying stunning scenery, great wine and - of course - living in an exciting city which is rebuilding around me.

The reservation was canceled 165 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
No frills 2 star accommodation - very basically furnished but comfortable.
Brickbats - some milk or tea bags/coffee would have been appreciated especially if you arrive late at night.
Bouquets - good hot shower, close walking distance to city centre.
Expensive based on what's provided but C'Church accommodation isn't cheap.
Peter was very helpful in organising our stay and always replied to our many questions quickly.
The apartment is as stated in a very good location close to the CBD and the park also.
City isn't ready for travel yet.
Stayed there for three nights with our 3 year old child. All felt comfortable. Good location near the botanical garden and the city center. Nice urban flat. Enjoyed our stay. Thanks Peter for always answering our mails so quick.
Peter was not around while we were staying in this apartment. He did send me very detailed instructions to how to get into the place though and was pretty quick to answer and easy to communicate with.
I stayed here with my parents for a few nights around New Years. The apartment was not quite what we were expecting. Judging from the reviews I was expecting a very clean modern place, but it turned out to be more of a lower backpacker-standard. There seemed to be a lot of moisture in the apartment and since Peter was away and it had been raining for a few days without proper ventilation, it smelled rather musty. The shower had a roof, which I've never seen before, but very little ventilation and thus was rather stuffy. After opening all the windows it was better. We also kept them open since Peter warned us the day before we got there, that his bedroom has a very sensitive smoke alarm when cooking. And we didnt want to pay for the fire brigade coming over. My parents slept in the one guest bedroom while I was on the pull out couch with a pillow, a sleepingbag and no sheet.
It is close to the (former) city centre and the park but after the earthquake the city centre is very abandoned. About a third of the buildings is still standing, most of them held up by containers. In fact there is hardly another building close by this apartment building that shows signs of habitation. Our taxi driver was reluctant to leave us there, not sure if the building was still occupied. Since we didnt have a car we walked to the closest grocery store - about 20 min one way.
Great place for a short stay and a small budget, but I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.
Peter provided everything necessary for us to access the apartment. It was as advertised and in a great location near Hagley Park.
Although Peter was away, he arranged everything so we had no problems accessing the apartment which proved an excellent choice for us. Its location close to the center of town and to Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens was ideal for us and we were able to walk everywhere rather than drive. The apartment is very comfortable and had everything we needed for a most enjoyable stay.
great modern apartment in a great location. perfect for a short trip or long trip. Thanks!
Peter was a great host. The living area is quite spacious while the bedroom is more on the cozy side. The place is in the CBD which unfortunately is mostly still being rebuilt from the earthquake but there are still a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend it to others.
