I am a college professor at the University of Minnesota who loves to travel, and does so often for work. I especially come to Europe frequently for research and academic conferences. I lived for an entire year in Paris (1995-96) and another in Florence (2005-06) My specialty is European intellectual history, and I am the author of this book: (website hidden)(phone number hidden).html. I speak pretty good French and passable Italian.
I am married and have two adult children and live in St. Paul, MN. I am a bike commuter (not in winter!) and I like to play tennis and to cook and eat well. My wife Alison teaches English as a Second Language and speaks many other languages (Spanish is her best, and she is a medical interpreter in that language, but she also speaks Italian very well, and French and Portuguese well). Along with our two boys, ewe also have a fluffy, needy cat named Tiramisu.
