I'm originally from Germany but have been living in Otago, South Island New Zealand for the last 15 years. I'm trained as an architect, but work as an artist. I love the great outdoors and spend most of my time in nature or traveling overseas.

Nina's cottage is light filled, warm, colourful and very comfortable. A walk to the end of the garden shows off one of the most spectacular mountain ranges I've ever scene and Lake Hawea just 5 minutes drive away is crystal clear and breathtaking.
It was a very relaxing stay.
Lovely stay in a lovely home. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the location. Good for getting around the Wanaka area and further!
A beautifull nice romantic cottage in the country side, clean and very spacious. We loved the nearby city Wanaka.
Nina was a very kind and helpfull host
If you're looking for a nice quiet secluded area, this place is ideal. For me it was perfect, but one needs ones own transportation. Nina is a great host too, very friendly and helpful. She has led a full life and her travel stories are very interesting, particularly about how she came from Germany and ended up settling here in New Zealand. She's a talented artist too. One can observe her unique paintings in the rooms of her house. I highly recommend this place.
Early Jan, 2014 I went on a 21 day NZ adventure. I stayed several nights in Wanaka. Nina was very welcoming and the accommodations were private, quiet and comfortable. Conversation was engaging, covering from European travel, area hiking trails, to where the best fishing spots are located. Nina also contacted a neighbor that helped with the area fishing - great people! For my next NZ trip I will definitely stay at Nina's place.
Sincerely, Ed T.
Nina's house has all you need for a comfortable stay. It's compact, clean and well equipped, and bed is very comfortable. It's located a good 15 minutes drive from Wanaka, and about 7 minutes drive from Lake Hawea. As we were there in peak summer holiday season we found this location (away from the crowds) to be very relaxing.
Nina was very helpful with advice on places to go, maps for our use and a good introduction to her house and the local area. The only thing she couldn't control was the weather!!
We had a fantastic time at Nina's amazing cottage! It is comfortable, cosy and perfect for someone wanting to relax. The garden is beautiful and quite large. I also really liked where it is situated-it took us less than 10min to drive to Lake Hawea about 15min into Wanaka. Nina was great-she was flexible with check in and check out times and gave us lots of advice on what to do in the area. We would have loved to stay longer!
Nina was a kind a generous host and her cottage was very cute and comfortable, and only a 10 minute drive from Lake Hawea.
