This house was amazing. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did . It is quite a sight to see and i felt so at home but the place was so abstract & so modern at the same time I really enjoyed staying there I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I most definitely will be back one day soon
I stayed here for a month and the place is amazing! The openness and being surrounded by trees instilled the place with a peacefulness that I loved. The house feels open and private at the same time. It is really an incredibly unique space and it was fun playing around with the moving walls (yes, some of the walls move!). I did not want to (website hidden) was great in all her communication and responded quickly to any questions I had. She was very accommodating with my arrival and departure dates. She gave an awesome orientation to the house and the neighborhood. I loved the location - within walking distance of Grant park and very close to East Atlanta and Little 5 Points.
The space and feel of the house is incredible.
What a great example of falling in love with the possibility of a property...and doing so again in person once you arrive in person.
My business partner (an architect) and I were in town for business for a single night with very little time to just 'relax' / 'explore', but M.C.'s property captivated us from the first time we ran across it. We opted to drive 45 minutes out of our way (in ATL traffic) to stay at M.C.'s home...and are thrilled we did.
So many ways to describe the property, but what comes to mind first / foremost is that it is compelling and captivating for those who are seeking something truly modernist with layers of the unexpected once they arrive. The home never sells itself as being 'cozy' (the way many homes try to focus) - this is something entirely different. Yet, it still manages to be refreshing and relaxing in a myriad of ways.
Despite its location, you really feel as if tucked away in the woods. And despite its endless glass walls, you really feel as if you are in a very private setting.
And while we use the property just for a very quick one-night rest, we'd love to consider it for hosting an event, too. Be an ideal location for a creative work event or make-an-impact dinner party.
Finally, M.C. was a terrific host, staying in touch with us several days in advance all the way thru our visit. Appreciate her willingness to open up this striking property...and to make it feel like home for those coming in from afar.
MC was a responsive and flexible host - I appreciate letting me know that the place was available!
The home is absolutely stunning. If you're looking for an inspiring, relaxing place to stay - this is it.
This space is fantastic. I woke up to the sun and birds every morning coming through the giant panes of glass. The neighborhood is really nice - I went for a couple runs down Berne St. to Grant Park and it was fantastic. Also really quick drive to Little Five Points which is a great place to grab food and drinks. M.C. was really helpful about getting me in to the place and giving me details about the area and even suggested a couple concerts while I was in town. Super great experience!
A really special space. Highly recommended.
Every day I would wake up and say, "I love this house." The views of the trees, the sounds of the birds, the openness, the design -- every aspect is enjoyable. Mary Clare is a wonderful host. She was very attentive, anticipating any situation. We arrived just before Atlanta's coldest winter weather in 100 years, and MC installed an additional heater, just in case we might be cold. When the weather did cause problems with the pipes (it was almost down to zero!), she was there immediately to fix them. The house has everything you would need for a short or long stay. We stayed for two months and we are sad to be leaving. And MC is delightful.
Very Unique and casual. We had a 3-day business retreat here and it was great for creativity and thinking out of the box
MaryClaire is a wonderful host. I rented this space for a dinner party for my 40th birthday and it was magical. The unique architecture and picturesque setting was absolutely stunning, especially at night with candles lit. What a rare gem. It was hands down my best birthday ever. Mary Claire was very helpful and her price was quite reasonable for such an awesome space. I would highly recommend MC and this very special place.
The house is friggin' awesome. It iss beautiful, inspiring, and made more so by the fact that M.C. and Carlos designed and built the house themselves. Probably not ideal for a family retreat as the furnishing is pretty spartan, but we loved the place. The house is a work of art, and should be regarded as such. Definitely would rent again for my next trip to Atlanta.
