Basic cabin in the woods. Just what we wanted.
Eli's cabin is pure perfection. At the end of the road, beauty and peace. No cell reception, no internet. We listened to records, read, knit, hiked with our dogs, wrote, and wished that we had many more days to do the same. Thanks for sharing your house with us, Eli!
This was a great little treehouse up in wine country! Close to downtown Forestville and Guerneville.
Not quite a 2 bedroom- there was one bedroom and a loft with a bed, which was fine for us, but might be tricky for others.
The kitchen is not modern, but had everything we needed. There was a great little reading nook that we loved!
Enjoyed the cozy, quiet cabin. I will recommend it. Please have plenty of kindling and newspapers to start a fire in the stove next time.
Eli's place was super clean and tidy, with a quirky and charming feel. Even though we didn't use the kitchen at all, it appeared well stocked and I liked that there was an amply stocked spice rack--not just salt, pepper, and the standard 3 jars of stale garlic powder. We were worried we would be chilly overnight with just space heaters and the fireplace, but actually were plenty warm enough, especially in the loft with the heat rising.
Great spot, Eli is a chiller, the pad is handsome and the vibes are thick. Would love to go back.
Me and my girlfriend had a great time staying at Eli's place. Eli was super responsive and gave clear instructions which made for a smooth stay. Love the access to the firewood, and the stove heated the place up nice on a rainy morning. We walked around the neighborhood a bit and found some paths by the river.
It was a cozy couple of days and we're glad it was spent here! The record player and fireplace made for some really great ambiance. Thanks!
Eli's cabin is a fantastic place to spend a few days: cozy, clean, and close to a variety of great, small towns.
This place was exactly what we needed. Endless rustic charm. Absolute silence. No internet and no cell reception. A trusty wood burning stove to keep the chill away and a small record player (and solid record collection) to provide the soundtrack.
The cabin was everything I hoped for and more. It is adorably appointed, and private yet close to all the local attractions. I loved waking up surrounded by trees, playing records and reading by the indoor stove. Couldn't recommend this place more, and I'll definitely be coming back! Perfect for two people.
Eli was great. Easy going, good guy, fun to talk to, undemanding. Interesting life and career. Completely trustworthy.
Eli is the best. Trustworthy and responsible. Good at ping pong. A steadfast supporter of fish stews. You should rent his place and also be his friend if that's an option on here somewhere.
Not only is Eli all-around pretty great, but he is apparently a masterful decorator, home fixer-upper, and handy-guy. If you're staying at his cabin, I have no doubt you'll be delighted. He's put an immense amount of care into making the space a unique and beautiful retreat. Given that Eli is such a lovely host, I'm positive he'd make a wonderful guest, as well!
I would stay at Eli's house! In fact, I have stayed there many times before. It's a lovely, quiet, secluded retreat. Expect to see lots of trees out of the windows. As for Eli himself, I believe he would make a quiet and respectful house guest, if his non-house-guest persona is anything to go by (it is.) Please consider this man and his home vouched for.
Eli is one of my favorite men. I've known him for nine years. The home he's listing for rental here on airbnb makes an ideal hideaway. I helped him fix it up a little bit (just a little bit) after he bought it. The idea of going back to that house lifts my spirits.
Not only is Eli a fellow of excellent character and vim whom I have known for several calendar years, I also happen to have visited this very cabin in the woods, emerging with all my major limbs and organs intact. If you're looking to get out of San Francisco for a while, it's hard to imagine a sweeter spot. I VOUCH FOR THIS MAN.
You would be hard-pressed to find a kinder and friendlier fellow than Eli. He's also smart, charming, and an excellent host. His Forestville getaway is an awesome place that he's transformed into a lovely writer's retreat with his own blood, sweat and tears -- a perfect destination for those wanting a respite from a hectic city life.
Eli is a gracious man with a decent mid-range jumper. He's at his best when hosting people at his cabin and discussing carpentry. He might be at his worst when he's alone, but how would I know? Eli is also a man of very few needs. As a houseguest, I imagine he's ideal!
