Staying at Eli's amazing woodland retreat was pure bliss.
The home is clean, decorated with the most amazing furniture/objects and filled with everything you may need.
The only downfall was that due to the beautiful weather the mezzanine bed area was too HOT for me or my friend to sleep in, so we took to using the mattress in the study instead - which was totally fine and comfortable.
Sitting on the decking overlooking the tree tops was a total pleasure come morning or night.
I would highly recommend staying here.
The place has some nice style but still a work in progress as stated in the description. The fireplace really does take a lot of work and tending to. The kitchen is not suited for real cooking and the bed is pretty small. Depending on what you are looking for it could be a good fit. I don't think it's great for children under 3 as they cannot walk around outside a lot bc if the dirt and there are a lot if tools and stuff around. The river is nearby and a lot of fun as is the town Guernerville. In the opposite direction is the rugged coast and another small town with some restaurants
Eli was easy to communicate with, glad we got to stay and check out this place, as we were hoping we could do. Since it was our last day we were running around a lot and didn't get to check out the river, maybe next time!
This place was great. Exactly as advertised. We had a great relaxing weekend.
I've now stayed in both of Eli's wonderfully eclectic and tastefully quirky homes and found both of them utterly delightful. From the minute you walk into the door, I feel a sense of tranquility and sanctuary. Eli's sensibility is both utterly whimsical and completely practical. There is everything you need there, yet you will find surprises at every turn. And yes, there is a whisk.
I've stayed at Eli's cabin more than once and this time I brought a few friends. Everyone had a great time and didn't want to leave!
Eli was super responsive and flexible enough to entertain my last minute accommodation request. The cabin itself was exactly as described in the listing. Rustic and relaxing -- perfect for a little retreat. I would have loved to have stayed longer!
This house was exactly like it was listed (and better!)- I absolutely loved this house. It was very cozy and nice. The house was super close to the river and that was a lot of fun and it's very well located near a lot of awesome stuff! Overall, this was an awesome experience and I'm so glad that we chose this house. (P.S. the loft is SO cozy and nice)
This place is absolutely amazing! Very cozy and sweet and enough space for 5! It's a really cute unique, quiet place close to nature where you can have fun and rest. We walked down to the local beach, which was so secluded we felt like we had the place to ourselves! I can't say enough good things about this rental, or the really wonderful experience we had. Thank you! :)
Eli has a great little oasis in Forestville. We enjoyed four great days among the trees in this well-kept home. The house was everything we were looking for--an off-the-grid experience (no Internet, limited cell service) with close proximity to Napa and the Redwoods. The record collection was stellar; we had it playing constantly as we cooked. The kitchen has every cooking utensil you'd need, and there's a super reasonably priced Safeway right up the road. Eli was always responsive to any of our inquiries and gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. We didn't want to leave!
Eli was great. Easy going, good guy, fun to talk to, undemanding. Interesting life and career. Completely trustworthy.
Eli is the best. Trustworthy and responsible. Good at ping pong. A steadfast supporter of fish stews. You should rent his place and also be his friend if that's an option on here somewhere.
Not only is Eli all-around pretty great, but he is apparently a masterful decorator, home fixer-upper, and handy-guy. If you're staying at his cabin, I have no doubt you'll be delighted. He's put an immense amount of care into making the space a unique and beautiful retreat. Given that Eli is such a lovely host, I'm positive he'd make a wonderful guest, as well!
I would stay at Eli's house! In fact, I have stayed there many times before. It's a lovely, quiet, secluded retreat. Expect to see lots of trees out of the windows. As for Eli himself, I believe he would make a quiet and respectful house guest, if his non-house-guest persona is anything to go by (it is.) Please consider this man and his home vouched for.
Eli is one of my favorite men. I've known him for nine years. The home he's listing for rental here on airbnb makes an ideal hideaway. I helped him fix it up a little bit (just a little bit) after he bought it. The idea of going back to that house lifts my spirits.
Not only is Eli a fellow of excellent character and vim whom I have known for several calendar years, I also happen to have visited this very cabin in the woods, emerging with all my major limbs and organs intact. If you're looking to get out of San Francisco for a while, it's hard to imagine a sweeter spot. I VOUCH FOR THIS MAN.
You would be hard-pressed to find a kinder and friendlier fellow than Eli. He's also smart, charming, and an excellent host. His Forestville getaway is an awesome place that he's transformed into a lovely writer's retreat with his own blood, sweat and tears -- a perfect destination for those wanting a respite from a hectic city life.
Eli is a gracious man with a decent mid-range jumper. He's at his best when hosting people at his cabin and discussing carpentry. He might be at his worst when he's alone, but how would I know? Eli is also a man of very few needs. As a houseguest, I imagine he's ideal!
