Perfect vacation spot! The cabin is nestled in the woods but just a short drive from the river, beach, and several small towns. The cabin was spacious! Great dining area overlooking the woods! Definitely will stay here again. Thanks Eli!
Eli's house is amazing! Full of treasures, great books and classic records. We had a great and very relaxing time exploring the house, river and near by town. It is easy to get to the river and there is a cute little country store walking distance. I highly recommend taking a retreat to this cabin. We will be back for sure!
This little cabin is awesome! Great location. Very private and in a little redwood grove. The cabin is full of everything you need plus neat vintage decorations. My husband, 18 month old, and I had a great trip. Eli is a very responsive host and had some great recommendations for things to do in the area. Would love to stay here again!
WOW, WOW , WOW ! there are no other words to describe Eli's hide away in the Russian River. My family ( 3 teenage kids+ us) just loved the place! The main thing is the location ( as Eli describes it on the website) - set among big trees, tranquil and simply beautiful!!!! But it wasn't just the location that made this place so special. It was also the deco - very simple but stylish. You could feel the love and attention to detail that the owner has put into the place! Don't be put off by the fact that it does not have WIFI - we played cards with our teenage kids, listened to music ( great gramophone with a selection of vinyl records), danced and talked! I am not sure it would have happened if WIFI was there. Eli, the owner, was extremely friendly and accommodating - a really nice guy! We have travelled to many places in the world with Airbnb ( and not only) but this place is totally unforgettable! If you are looking for accommodation in Russian River valley - Eli's cabin must be the place to consider!
This home truly was a quiet experience, which was what we were looking for. It was a great place to come home to after spending the day on the Russian River or doing some wine tasting. The home was clean and relaxing (disconnected from cable/internet). You are located in a small valley close to many homes.
Eli was a friendly host and answered any questions I had. There is a lack of ventilation in the home (not many windows open), so I would suggest bringing a small fan on a hot day.
I love Eli's home! I have been coming here regularly for two years. The deck, the loft, the book nooks, the view upon waking in the bedroom are some of the highlights of the space. It's equally great to be there in the 'winter' as it is in the summer. Eli is friendly and easy to communicate with, and responds promptly. Three thumbs up!
Directions to this magic little treehouse cabin were clear and communication with the host was easy, with a quick turnaround. We really loved staying here. It was clean, everything worked, was well stocked for visitors (backup paper products, olive oil, spices, throw blankets, etc.). The setting is really stunning: in fact, we just decided to spend the day napping, eating, reading and looking out the windows. The host has an excellent eye for things and has curated a fantastic array of things to look at and admire. Eli arranged to have a vase of fresh flowers on the dining room table, which I thought was a nice touch.
Awesome cabin, such a great location! It's at the end of a hill, redwoods all over the yard and a lot of forest to explore. Only a ten minute drive to the coast, which is an absolute must!
Eli was very helpful throughout. And his place is... wonderful. It was just what I had been looking for. Redwoods, quiet, sunny, misty, warm, cool, fireplace, deck, great kitchen, bedroom views, excellent library, rustic but totally functional... all perfect. And minutes from Russian river swimming, funky cafes, and CA coastal picnics. Thanks!
We felt welcome upon arrival. Eli was prompt in response to our questions.
Eli was great. Easy going, good guy, fun to talk to, undemanding. Interesting life and career. Completely trustworthy.
Eli is the best. Trustworthy and responsible. Good at ping pong. A steadfast supporter of fish stews. You should rent his place and also be his friend if that's an option on here somewhere.
Not only is Eli all-around pretty great, but he is apparently a masterful decorator, home fixer-upper, and handy-guy. If you're staying at his cabin, I have no doubt you'll be delighted. He's put an immense amount of care into making the space a unique and beautiful retreat. Given that Eli is such a lovely host, I'm positive he'd make a wonderful guest, as well!
I would stay at Eli's house! In fact, I have stayed there many times before. It's a lovely, quiet, secluded retreat. Expect to see lots of trees out of the windows. As for Eli himself, I believe he would make a quiet and respectful house guest, if his non-house-guest persona is anything to go by (it is.) Please consider this man and his home vouched for.
Eli is one of my favorite men. I've known him for nine years. The home he's listing for rental here on airbnb makes an ideal hideaway. I helped him fix it up a little bit (just a little bit) after he bought it. The idea of going back to that house lifts my spirits.
Not only is Eli a fellow of excellent character and vim whom I have known for several calendar years, I also happen to have visited this very cabin in the woods, emerging with all my major limbs and organs intact. If you're looking to get out of San Francisco for a while, it's hard to imagine a sweeter spot. I VOUCH FOR THIS MAN.
You would be hard-pressed to find a kinder and friendlier fellow than Eli. He's also smart, charming, and an excellent host. His Forestville getaway is an awesome place that he's transformed into a lovely writer's retreat with his own blood, sweat and tears -- a perfect destination for those wanting a respite from a hectic city life.
Eli is a gracious man with a decent mid-range jumper. He's at his best when hosting people at his cabin and discussing carpentry. He might be at his worst when he's alone, but how would I know? Eli is also a man of very few needs. As a houseguest, I imagine he's ideal!
