We had an amazing time at Eli's cabin. The location is perfect, secluded but still with easy access to everything you'd need. Besides the beautiful location, the house itself had several great amenities including a record player, a fire pit, and a full kitchen. Eli also made it incredibly easy for us to find the place and had it completely set up so we felt very welcomed. For two people wanting a relaxing escape from the city for a weekend, this was perfect. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay. Perfect weather and a nice place to enjoy it. Easy to get in. Great communication. Location is great. Loved the records & books. The ladder to the loft was a bit dicey (rungs are far apart and on an angle + nails poking out at top) and the bodum has a leak. Great stay otherwise.
The cabin was a fabulous getaway. Far enough in the woods to be peaceful and quiet, but close enough to the ocean and neighboring towns to offer excursion opportunities. We loved the wood stove, the fire pit and of course the eclectic selection of records. The cabin felt like a family home and not just a rental. Eli was very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend.
Brilliant. Simply a delightful space. We left all electronics at home and found Eli's vinyls to be the perfect escape. The place had everything we needed to cook all meal ourselves; well stocked.
Delightful AM views of the foggy forest from the bedroom window. Loved the decor too. Pink animal skin rugs ftw.
Only minus - stock new wood! Whatever you have piled up isn't very suitable. Invest in firewood - not just wood!
The light in the cabin was close to cinematic; a meal on the porch, with the sound of the creek nearby, was also one butterfly-on-my-shoulder short of being too magical. If taking a staircase down to the creek and surveying the redwoods sounds like your idea of a good time, this is the place for you.
This cabin was perfect for our quick overnight vacation. It is decorated with unique and antique items, and we LOVED the record collection. The kitchen has all the basics. We loved the large deck. The sleeping loft above the living room was cozy and neat! I'm so glad we stayed here; I will definitely come back!
Everything was great. Eli was a nice and understandable host. It was too bad that we had a power outage during our second night. Other than that the stay was great!
Eli is a great host...he was super easy to get a hold of before and during the stay when I couldn't figure out how to use the fireplace. The cabin is absolutely adorable! He has decorated it really well! And he has a great selection of books. The no tv didn't bother us at all, but wifi would've been great to have, as even cell reception to check (website hidden) maps, etc. is pretty spotty.
It was a surprise birthday trip for my boyfriend to try Pliny the Younger at the Russian River Brewery and we couldn't have found a better cabin. Such character!
One thing to pay attention to is that the fridge is a large mini-fridge, so don't overdo it on the grocery shopping. Also, although the description notes this (I must not have read carefully), the cabin does have 2 bedrooms, but one of those is used as a super cute office. So one of the 2 beds is up in the loft...which is also really neat and was very comfortable, but something to be aware of. If someone is older that may not want to climb the ladder. That being said, we dug it!
The area is just gorgeous. We went to Guerneville one morning for breakfast, and the drive there passes some wineries, which looked so pretty in the misty rain.
I would love to go back and stay here again...I could imagine being a writer and staying here for months!
You won't go wrong in choosing this cabin. But make sure you're not afraid of ladybugs...there were quite a few in the master bedroom and up in the loft! We took it as good luck.
Return visit. Another wonderful experience. Perfect getaway outside of SF.
Such a lovely visit in a beautiful place. The cabin had everything we could need and more. It's a beautiful setting and was sad to leave. Eli was more than accommodating to us on a last minute request. So glad to have been there! Loved it!
Eli was great. Easy going, good guy, fun to talk to, undemanding. Interesting life and career. Completely trustworthy.
Eli is the best. Trustworthy and responsible. Good at ping pong. A steadfast supporter of fish stews. You should rent his place and also be his friend if that's an option on here somewhere.
Not only is Eli all-around pretty great, but he is apparently a masterful decorator, home fixer-upper, and handy-guy. If you're staying at his cabin, I have no doubt you'll be delighted. He's put an immense amount of care into making the space a unique and beautiful retreat. Given that Eli is such a lovely host, I'm positive he'd make a wonderful guest, as well!
I would stay at Eli's house! In fact, I have stayed there many times before. It's a lovely, quiet, secluded retreat. Expect to see lots of trees out of the windows. As for Eli himself, I believe he would make a quiet and respectful house guest, if his non-house-guest persona is anything to go by (it is.) Please consider this man and his home vouched for.
Eli is one of my favorite men. I've known him for nine years. The home he's listing for rental here on airbnb makes an ideal hideaway. I helped him fix it up a little bit (just a little bit) after he bought it. The idea of going back to that house lifts my spirits.
Not only is Eli a fellow of excellent character and vim whom I have known for several calendar years, I also happen to have visited this very cabin in the woods, emerging with all my major limbs and organs intact. If you're looking to get out of San Francisco for a while, it's hard to imagine a sweeter spot. I VOUCH FOR THIS MAN.
You would be hard-pressed to find a kinder and friendlier fellow than Eli. He's also smart, charming, and an excellent host. His Forestville getaway is an awesome place that he's transformed into a lovely writer's retreat with his own blood, sweat and tears -- a perfect destination for those wanting a respite from a hectic city life.
Eli is a gracious man with a decent mid-range jumper. He's at his best when hosting people at his cabin and discussing carpentry. He might be at his worst when he's alone, but how would I know? Eli is also a man of very few needs. As a houseguest, I imagine he's ideal!
