I live in San Francisco, CA. We are hoping to do some hiking in the national park.
My time at Alison's was simply great. The bedroom was more than enough and the bed itself was especially comfy! Alison always helped me with my day to day plans providing invaluable insight to the area. When our paths crossed at home, she always asked how my day was which led to some great chats. The breakfasts were also wonderful. I felt right at home. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this listing to anyone!
Alison is a great combo of friendly but knows you are a person doing your thing. She was helpful, even offering an umbrella and suggesting a shuttle service to the airport & then even going so far as to help me set it up online since I only had my little iphone. Very thoughtful and nice lady and her cat Gracie is funny.
Alison was an amazing host. Centrally located, within walking distance to nice nightlife and shops and public transportation. The bed was comfortable and in a very nice and quiet enclosed area. Alison was very friendly, even giving me a newspaper featuring an event I attended. Will definitely stay at again if in SF alone again!
I had a great stay at Alison's apartment in San Francisco. The location was perfect for public transportation, walking, shopping, eating, and just generally being in a great part of town. The accommodations were extremely comfortable--the bed was cozy and comfy (it was bigger than it looked in the pictures), and I had a lot of privacy. I enjoyed meeting Alison and she was a lovely host--we were able to visit some, but also able to do our own thing. I felt very comfortable there and really loved the locale.
I really enjoyed staying at Alison's place. She was a great host, very friendly and helpful, but with plenty of privacy. It was also very convenient to UCSF.
Alison was a gracious and lovely host. I was at a conference by myself, so it was nice to have someone to chat with in the evenings. Alison was kind enough to ask what I wanted/liked for breakfast. The bed was cozy and comfortable, tucked into an alcove off of the living room. I was gone for most of the day and pretty exhausted when I got back in the evening, so this was really all I needed. This was also my first AirBnB experience, so I don't have much to compare it to. Based upon this experience, I do look forward to doing AirBnB again though.
Alison was a perfect host. The apartment was great, situated in a great neighborhood. Alison was very nice, friendly, flexible, and helpful. She had warned me that her cat was territorial and a little bit nervous, but I did not have any problems with it. Excellent choice of cereals.
Alison hosted a wonderful weekend getaway for me in her quiet living room/sleeping loft space. The photos were accurate. My weekend was lovely and serene even tho the location is in the heart of busy neighborhood. Walk to everything!. I appreciated her efforts to make me feel comfortable, provide tourist info plus an extra de Young museum ticket !
I needed a place to crash for a couple nights during overtime work in S.F. and found Alison's place. She was very accommodating about letting me check in at 11:30pm the first night. I really appreciate how she was able to work that out for me. She immediately made me fee comfortable and told me to make myself at home, even offering food for me. Her place was extremely clean and pleasant. She has a cat, but after our initial greeting, I never saw the cat. Both nights I came in at 11:30pm and left at 7:30am and was gone the entire day. Alison is a SUPER host. She is friendly and professional. It was an easy transaction with no hitches. However,I was pretty surprised to see that the bed was literally in a closet. Granted, the closet was painted and decorated nicely, but it was still a closet off the living room. There was no door (other than glass doors) for privacy. It's definitely not a place where most couples would be comfortable. There is virtually no space around the bed at all (other than about a foot, so it feels really claustrophobic. Because the closet is off the living room, the only way to improve this would be to have a door that could shut off the living room for privacy. But that wouldn't be great for Alison because they she wouldn't be able to access her TV and sofa. Due to the lack of privacy, I was really concerned about waking her if (God forbid) I snored. I could have closed the glass doors to seal in the closet, but I would have felt overly cramped in there and claustrophobic. Other than that, I would strongly recommend a stay at Alison's for anybody who merely needs a place to sleep at night. Alison is fantastic!. Also, the price was very reasonable.
Alison is a great host: she helped me in every possible way to make my stay in San Francisco as best as possible. Her apartment is in a very nice position (near Castro and the Golden Gate Park) and is extremely clean and tidy.
The room, or better the alcove, is pretty small but the bed is really comfortable with a lot of pillows.
The cat, Grace, is a little bit territorial and intimidating, but if you just ignore her, everything will flow smoothly.
I enjoyed Alison's stay here and even wished she could have stayed longer. I felt as though I was hosting a friend whom I hadn't seen for a while as we have a lot in common and also because she is so amiable. I found her to be warm, intelligent and supportive. I also appreciated her keen wit and sense of humor. I would welcome hosting her again anytime she comes this way and i'm sure anyone else who does, will appreciate how lovely a person she is.
Alison is a responsible woman, clean and considerate. She showed up in time and communication was easy. Everything went smooth and she took care of the apartment as if it was hers.
I do recommend Alison to all hosts.
