I live and work in Pittsburgh and love to travel. I hope my condo accomodates others who love to travel.
We arrived in Christmas town on a rainy afternoon. The condo was decked out with all manor of holiday cheer on nearly every surface, some of which we needed to move aside for function but that was no biggie. It brightened our spirits and was fun ambiance, especially with a fire going as the rain began to freeze & eventually turn to snow. The community provides an abundance of fire wood a few steps from the door, so that's a nice touch.
As others have mentioned it's a cozy spot with a stocked kitchen, just a short walk from the slopes at Hidden Valley. My only criticism is that the master bed was hard as a rock & the towels were in short supply. Bring a pillow top if you have one. The futons in the loft are comfy.
Justin accommodated a date change easily & generally responded to questions quickly. We didn't get a lot of details about the condo/procedure or the area from him but there's plenty of feedback here in the reviews and it's not his job to plan our vacation!
We learned that PA DOT does not respond quickly to inclement weather, so highly recommend AWD/4WD during the winter. It's a mountain town, after all.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Super convenient and lovely place to stay. Hope to get the chance to come back at some point. Justin's place is immaculate and he was available when when we needed information.
Really nice place on a beautiful area.. Highly recommend it.
Loved the loft condo. Was everything we expected and more. Justin was very helpful as a host, accommodating our arrival. Beautiful area. I would easily stay here again.
Our stay at Justin's condo was mixed, but we had some strange circumstances, and frankly, I'd do it again. Overall, it was a great place.
We arrived very late on a Friday night to Justin's condo. At first, it appeared to be perfect for us! My husband and I, along with my sister and her husband, rented it so we could spend the weekend at Falling Water. It's about 30 minutes away and located in an adorable ski area next to some great parks. There is a quaint grocery around, some beer stores, a few pizza places, stuff like that. It slept the four of us comfortably and was well-equipped enough for our needs.
Upon arrival, however, we realized quickly that the condo had been stayed in probably a week prior and never cleaned. There was urine in the toilet (phew!), dirty towels piled in the tub, and all the sheets had clearly been slept in. Not a pleasant greeting to be sure. Moreover, we were in the middle of nowhere around midnight, so finding alternate lodging was not an option.
I emailed Justin about the circumstances and he responded very promptly the next morning, profusely apologizing for the situation. He put in several calls to the cleaning company (closed over the weekend, of course) and later confirmed that there was a miscommunication on their end and they had missed that week. He quickly directed me to clean towels and cleaning supplies, though there were no extra sheets to be had. He also very promptly refunded us for half of our stay due to the whole situation, and I felt very much like this was a fluke and not representative of Justin's condo more generally. And to be honest, since he handled things so well, it really didn't ruin our weekend. I absolutely believe that this wouldn't be an issue in the future, but I also wouldn't feel guilty about ensuring that his cleaning company had been there with a quick phone call the day prior.
Seriously though, the place was pretty perfect for the four of us, well located, reasonably priced, and quite pleasant. One nice feature is that the bathroom is split into two rooms- there is one half with a shower and a sink, and then next to it, the toilet and a sink. So someone can be in the shower and someone can use the restroom at the same time without being in the same room. For two couples, this was a nice feature. The loft second bedroom is high up enough that you can't see in at all from below, so it's relatively private, all things considered.
Overall, the very sour start was mitigated by an overall fun weekend and Justin's clear responsiveness to our issue. Assuming this was a fluke, I'd recommend it.
This condo is an opportunity to get some peace, quiet, and wonderful surroundings, especially in the off-season (skiers will probably love the season--but we enjoyed all the privacy and space with no one around)! The condo itself is very rugged and comfortable and you can hike and explore acres of forest from right outside the door.
We loved this terrific condo for our weekend getaway. It was only for two of us but would work for family with children since there is a nice loft with extra sleeping accomodations. We loved the nearness to the recreational areas that we enjoyed, i.e., the ski areas, Fallingwater, and the Flight 93 Memorial site. Lots to see and do in the Laurel Hills PA State Park area.
My husband and I stayed the weekend of 3/8-3/10 to meet up with friends in Seven Springs Resort. Justin's condo was in a great location to both Seven Springs Resort and Hidden Valley Resort (where the condo is located). The condo is located in a family friendly community on the resort and walking distance to the slopes. There was plenty of space for us, it was clean and comfortable. If the place is still available the next time we are in town we will look into staying at his condo again.
The condo is great. We cooked some nice meals, enjoyed the fireplace, and had plenty of room with the upstairs beds for our group of four. It's a quick walk to the Hidden Valley slopes (or less than 5 minute drive to the bottom of the hill to get to the main resort lodge). If you're arriving at night, there's a lot of small roads on the resort property so it can be a little directionally challenging, but there's no problem getting in touch for keys or reaching Justin. Thank you for this stay and we would come back!
