The flat was just right for us: cosy, had the basics we needed, nice location by Canal St Martin and close to the center. The Velib bikes are 50m away from the flat, very convenient. Astrid was easy to communicate with online, gave us precise directions to get there, and her friend (who met us, as Astrid was out of town) was on time and friendly.
Très bonne adresse !
Studio parfait pour un petit séjour à Paris
We had the most wonderful time at Astrid's apartment. Although we didn't get to meet Astrid, she was available via SMS to answer any questions we had. The apartment itself is exactly as it appears in the photos and the view is spectacular! The location was perfect with great coffee spots, restaurants and shopping just around the corner. It truly felt like a home away from home - so much so, we extended our stay by an extra day. I recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to experience Paris like a local. Thank you again Astrid!
While I didn't get to meet Astrid, her friend Daniel was very nice when we met to get the key (and patient - we underestimated the time it took from the airport since our bags took nearly an hour alone). We were a little lost looking for the building since it is a courtyard, but he came out to meet us. The apartment is just the right size for 2 people for a short time (husband and I stayed 4 days). The kitchen is large for a studio and has all the basics. She left us two bottles of a lovely French red, milk, juice, and bread (there is also a Brita filter for those picky about their water like me!), along with clear details for the apartment, wifi, clean-up, contact info and how to return the keys. The apartment is just like the photos, very clean with cute and quirky details and a great view of the Sacre Coeur. It's quiet, the bed is firm but comfortable and the bathroom isn't teeny tiny! We had everything we needed - she even made some room in the closet for us. Just remember that the lights in the hallway shut off after a couple minutes so when you step off the elevator it will be dark, but there is a switch just behind the door, or small lit ones down the hallway. It's 10-15 minute walk to Gare du l'Est (you cross the canal and there is a nice park), and about 3 blocks to the metro stop Colonel Fabien on line 2. It's not a touristy/crowded area, just Parisians going about their day-to-day, which is nice. She left cards for good restaurants in the neighborhood, and their is an award winning bakery recommended by Anthony Bourdain, Du Pain et des Idees, a few blocks away. There are also 2 small grocery stores (the closest one closes at 2030 or 2100) and a produce market between the apartment and the metro. Since she was out of town during our visit I hope that I get to meet Astrid on a future trip. She seems like a helpful and intriguing person to know since we shared some interests. She will make sure you have what you need to have a lovely stay and do her best to help you with any specific needs or questions. I would 100% stay there again!
Étant absente exceptionnellement, Je n'ai pas reçu personnellement Astrid mais j'ai accueilli sa maman la veille de son arrivée. Tout s'est bien passé durant le séjour et il n'y a rien à redire.
Astrid was a wonderful guest. Good communication before staying and the apartment was left perfectly clean afterwards.
