Thank you for allowing me to stay in your gorgeous home. I was very happy and comfortable there. The location was excellent for access to the beach, shopping, my ATV ride on the Dunes. Josephine was delightful when giving me access and providing the keys. I would recommend your accomodation highly.
Ian and Sharon's place is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful building within walking distance of many of Swakopmund's attractions. We had a great time there and appreciated the cut outs from travel mags that they left in the front hall so we knew which restaurants, cafés and activities we wanted to check out. The apartment is very spacious (including lots of closet space!) and was a great place to unwind (and do laundry) in the middle of our big Namibian road trip.
The apartment in the historical building is so beautiful. All the rooms are stylish and location is so central. We can walk to everything. We have sent home the postcard that we bought from Peter antiques across the road from the historical building and also sent home the pictures of us inside the building. We will tell all our friends to book for this accommodation if they go to Swakopmund.
As an American who used to work/live in Namibia for 7 years but now just visit, I am quite familiar with the different accommodations in Swakopmund as both a former resident and a tourist. I can say without a doubt that this is the coolest building in town, and the hosts have done an awesome job in terms of making the interior of the flat/apt as nice and classy as the exterior. It's also as convenient as it gets in terms of being able to step outside the door and walk to everything Swakopmund has to offer. And I believe it is very reasonably priced when compared to everything else in town. Hosts are also very nice and gracious. Truly great place.
Chris was a forthcoming and pleasant guest to have. He booked the apartment for a full month, and commited to the arrangements he had made.
Ian & Sharon's apartment in Swakopmund is a great find! They have created a wonderfully decorated space that is very well designed and extremely spacious. The apartment is located directly in the middle of Swakop, only a couple blocks from the water and several great bars, cafes, restaurants, and everything else you could want in the town. It is exactly as described in the listing. Add to that the fact that we had the pleasure of meeting Sharon in person and chatting with her for a few minutes. She is a wonderful host and an extremely gracious person who took the extra time to show us around her apartment and answer any questions we had. We very much look forward to staying here the next time that we are in Swakop and hopefully we will have a chance to stay quite a bit longer.
This is a spectacular historic old building with a colorful history in the center of downtown Swapokmund, 2 blocks from the beach. The apartment is large! more than the pictures would tell and feels really homey. Tastefully renovated it's a fantastic value in the middle of town from where to plan all your activities. I did not get to meet Ian & Sharon but everything went as it should with arriving and departing. I can highly recommend this place and would happily return if the opportunity presents!
This really was an exceptional apartment, beautiful wood floors & high ceilings. It's a few blocks up rom the beach, if that's where you want to be, but right across the street from the main stretch of shops, banks, restaurants, grocery, etc. A truly historical bldg. is on many of the postcards, pictures of it hang in shops & restaurants & dozens of tourists take pictures of it from across the street every day.
No internet, but free WiFi & an internet café at Stadtmitte down the block & a pay-as-you-go internet a few doors down.
The apartment is in the nicest building of the city and seems to be truly famous. It is very nice decorated and fully equipped. After days of traveling and staying in different lodges it was really nice to stay at a place where you feel right at home.
