Community Based Tourism in Bangladesh
I had a great time with Joanna and Joy and I highly recommand their little hostel! They made me feel staying at home and helped me incredible much with my book project, my questions and the travelling through and around Dhaka. It was the best, that could happen to me in Dhaka. The rooms are clean and nice - nicer than the pictures of them - and the neighbourhood is really "bangladeshi", with a lot of little "shops" and "restaurants", a little market, rikschas, dust and people (looking astonished but friendly at you, because there are rarely strangers). 10 minutes walking, there is a mall (Jamuna Future Parc) with a lot of other possibilities of food. So... If you go to Dhaka: Go to Joanna & Joy! :-)
Dear Christina, thanks for your great recommendation; I will search or make more attractive pictures :)
The host was very friendly and welcoming. Since she is originally from Netherlands this place provides European standards for cleanliness which is a rarity for budget accommodation in Bangladesh.
Thanks for your great review. We shared a wonderful time.
Accurate description, pleasant hosts and enjoyable stay. Efforts made to ensure needs met for arrangements for transport, tours, laundry, etc. Location excellent as a quieter district in Dhaka and conveneient to airport, essental shopping and restaurants. Definite recommendation.
