Wonderful stay in Avoca! Awesome spot; walking distance to the beach and picture cinema. Our host was great. He was very approachable and answered phone calls straight away. Awesome studio, with a good firm bed, nice big telly and a solid collection of DVD's. Would recommend it to any couples looking for a romantic weekend away in beautiful Avoca.
We had a lovely stay in this spacious studio up a steep path with Avoca beach and theatre at its base. We found the studio to be private and communication with Ben prior to and during our stay to be easy and efficient. We loved the garden setting and sense of being up high; and the flat screen tv and blue ray player plus selection of DVD titles to be excellent. We would have slept better in a larger bed (it was a double I think) but overall we loved our two nights away and we highly recommend it as value for money. Thanks Ben. Steve and Emma.
Nestled on the high side of the road below, the slightly steep access for a mobility challenged couple was quickly forgotten on entry to the airy, bush setting aspect, quiet, cool, well set out main room. Adjacent to this room were a separate bathroom with a variable setting shower head, good supply of hot water and heaps of pressure. Behind a partitioned wall, a small well stocked kitchenette was found with free items one would normally pay extra for in a high star Motels including 600ml fresh milk, Sparkling Italian Mineral Water, fresh fruit, Tim Tams, assortment of Teas and a top of the range temperature controlled kettle. It brought back memories of yesteryear for this vertically challenged overweight 6'3" person to sleep once again in a small Double bed; with time hopefully a King sized bed would really make this place a Jewel in the Crown. Being in the height of summer the secure fly screens over the open windows and door made for a comfortable existence whilst asleep. The (not so well publicised second outside room) on small deck with comfortable chairs and small table was adjacent to the, "Entertainment Sector", (via the sliding door) of this accommodation; a great flat screen TV, excellent transmission, and a great assortment of DVDs and very comfortable lounge meant two people could enjoy their own space in this cosy accommodation. We visited a few restaurants in our crumpled clothes as the lack of an iron and ironing board would have made us feel more comfortable but on entry to these restaurants we found that the crumpled look had character and we didn't feel out of place with other patrons in their summer attire. For the mountain goat patrons staying in your accommodation, there is a Public Path near to where you park your car down to the Main Beach and well worth attending Avoca Cinema prior to the beach (not many cinema's where they suggest taking your glass of wine into the cinema). It must have been the 36C day but climbing up the steep path back to the accommodation, Jenny Craig was surely on my mind for a New Years Resolution. We look forward to staying here again.
Good place to stay, not far from the beach with a nice deck to relax with the cicadas. Communication with Ben was excellent. Thanks Ben!
On arriving at the at the cottage we were immediately impressed by the beautifully manicured gardens that the cottage was nestled in. The room was larger than I expected and had everything we needed for a quiet weekend away. The wooden patio presented the tropically vegetated valley and was perfect for a relaxing start to the day. It was a short walk to the nearest beach down the thoroughfares how ever we took the easy option of driving. One word to describe the feeling of the place, serene. Thank you.
Ben's studio is a lovely part of the world. A pleasant place to be, a few minute walk to the beach, quick drive to the shops. It's open plan is very inviting and the deck is a nice place to spend some time. Communication with Ben was nice and easy too. Thanks mate!
