Book reservations online in advance for weekends. Best museum in Turin (and one of the most visited in Italy) if you want to see the largest dedicated museum of Egyptian antiquities outside of Egypt. Book a tour with one of the egyptologists if you can online.

Rosario
From Rosario's guidebook
The Egyptian Museum of Turin is among the most important in the world dedicated to the Pharaonic civilization, second only to the one in Cairo. Founded in 1826 when King Charles Felix of Sardinia purchased a large collection of Egyptian works, the collection today boasts 30,000 pieces. Located on Via Accademia delle Scienze, it takes at least 2-3 hours to visit. Inside, you'll find mummies, monumental statues, papyrus scrolls, sarcophagi, and everyday objects, spread across several floors. Among the must-see exhibits are the tomb furnishings of Kha and Merit, the Gallery of Kings, the Papyrus of the Mines, and the famous Royal Canon. It's best to book online, especially on weekends and holidays. Due to its importance, a guided tour is highly recommended: this way, you will not only skip the line at the entrance, but you will discover all the mysteries, anecdotes and stories of the richest Egyptian heritage in Europe.

Opened in 1824, this Turin institution houses the most important collection of Egyptian treasure outside Cairo. Among its many highlights are a statue of Ramses II (one of the world's most important pieces of Egyptian art), the world's largest papyrus collection and over 500 funerary and domestic items found in 1906 in the tomb of royal architect Kha and his wife Merit (from 1400 BC). A major renovation was completed in 2015 and the new minimalist spaces almost double the amount of the collection available for public display.

The most emblematic building of Turin also holds the National Cinema Museum. It was originally supposed to be the first Synagogue of Turin but was never completed. Inside you could take a glass elevator to enjoy the views of the rooftops of Turin.

Elisabetta Maria
From Elisabetta Maria's guidebook
Do you like cinema and architecture? In less than one hour driving (or by train) you can easily reach this incredible building! An architectural landmark of the city of Turin, it was initially conceived as a synagogue, before being bought by the Municipality of Turin and made into a monument to national unity. Planned and begun by architect Alessandro Antonelli in 1863, it was only completed in 1889. With a height of 167.5 metres, it was the tallest brick building in Europe at the time. The panoramic lift was inaugurated in 1961, during the celebrations for the centenary of the Italian Unification and it was renovated in 1999. Today it still allows visitors to go up to the panoramic terrace which is 85 metres high and take in the amazing views of the city and the surrounding Alps. Visitors can also climb on foot along the cavity of the dome stairs, up to the panoramic terrace.

Atriums Apartments

A few steps from Piazza Castello, this place has an unbeatable reputation for excellent food and good value. The short menu lists only a few dishes that change often and are always seasonal and delicious. Excellent carne cruda (a local version of the French steak tartare) and tomini (soft cheese often stored in oil) are served as appetisers. Order an antipasto misto if you want to taste different appetisers at once. Da Cianci Piola has become so popular lately that getting a table for dinner is almost impossible (they rarely answer the phone but try calling at least a day in advance to book ahead). To avoid disappointment head there for lunch but make sure you arrive 10-15 minutes before opening time. You can admire the pretty square where the piola is located while waiting. Address: Largo IV Marzo, 9/b, 10122 Turin. Tel.: 0039 388 876 7003 Opening hours: Every day, 12.45 – 3.30pm, 6.30 – 11pm
