Food Scene

Quaint and lively, it's tucked away from the bustle of Hollywood, so if you don't know that it's there you might miss it and that will be a mistake. Great seafood and mixed drinks.

The Redbury houses a great little restaurant Cleo. It's still difficult to get reservations here, but you can actually order from their menu on the patio of their Library Bar which worth checking out.

Have not tried this one yet, but read plenty of reviews to figure that it's a must try. Apparently its Chef Brendan Collins is one of them famous ones.

They have an incredible variety of harem pants-I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I go inside! Prices are extremely reasonable about $30-45 for a pair of pants and they often have sales. The women who own the place are so nice and helpful.

If you can manage to find your way through the secret entrance of this Houston Brothers joint—housed in a 1903 Victorian home that once schooled the children of Chaplin and DeMille—you'll find a beautiful back patio ideal for sipping cocktails. Grab a drink at the standalone greenhouse-covered bar, get cozy by one of the stone fireplaces, and on the weekends you can catch plenty of live entertainment. From live music on the porch, to sideshow acts and burlesque dancers, to impressive feats on the tightrope above the patio, there's plenty to take in. This is not your typical backyard patio. Keep in mind, the patio is open Tuesday to Saturday, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

ake a trip back to the 70s and hit the backyard bar of this retro-themed Hollywood joint from the Houston Brothers. Once you've made your way through the secret entrance in front, head back to the porch and AstroTurfed yard. There you'll find a vintage Airstream, where you can order a stiff drink and a bite from the grill like their spicy pork belly sammies or street corn. Then cozy up on a bench, swing from a hammock or boogie down to some sweet classic jams. Groovy.

Parks & Nature

There are plenty of gorgeous hikes in the park of varied intensity, but you can also simply stroll and take in the fresh air and the lushness of the green around. I also recommend the cafe in the park - The Trails where you can sit with a cup of coffee before or after a hike to the Griffith observatory, which is directly across from the place.

This park is much on a smaller scale than the Griffith Park, but it is more intimate and accessible. You can take your picnic there and sit on the top of the hill and take in the view. Generally, on weekdays, the place is rarely crowded and you can find some peace and quiet.
