You can't miss Bear Mountain, regardless of the season. It's beautiful & worth the stop just to take in the view. Note - They have a bar & spa too!

This place is amazing. Do you remember the isolated hotel in the movie "The Shining"? This place is kind of like that. First you take a winding drive up Route 9W, ending up at a sprawling complex of buildings, one of them the Bear Mountain Inn, where you can have a meal or just a few drinks with a spectacular view of Bear Mountain State Park in a Adirondack-style room furnished with chandeliers made of antlers and a huge working fireplace with a stone surround. Even if you don't have a meal in the restaurant here, (I can't vouch for the food because I've never ordered) it's worth just coming up for the drive.

The Bear Mountain Inn is a great place to visit, kick back and relax. Super comfy oversized lounge seating, as well as a beautiful bar with stools and a ginormous fireplace.The food is always fresh and delicious. Set your chair back, take in the spectacular views of the lower Hudson Valley until you're ready to eat or just hang out with The restaurant is right at the foot of the ski, snow trails and ice skating. Or enjoy just a cocktail with a friend.
