This is one of the most traditional old pubs in Dundee. Here you will find people of all social class talking politics or having a good laugh.

The Speedwell Bar, built in 1903 for James Speed (hence the name) and designed by architects John Bruce & Son, is one of the very few Edwardian pubs in Scotland, and the only one in Dundee, that has retained its original shopfront and fittings, due perhaps to their original exceptional craftsmanship and has been listed for the quality of its interior. This traditional scottish pub, affectionately known as 'Mennies' after the Landlady who owned and ran the property for over half a century.
