“The Lost Gardens of Heligan give you a taste of the exotic, just 5 minutes drive from Mevagissey. It has a fascinating history, abandoned during the war, only to be rediscovered and brought back to life years later. We love visiting in May/June to see the gigantic rhodedendrons, and seeing what's growing in the fruit and vegetable gardens. There are jungle-like gardens to explore including a rope walk and stunning sculptures in the woods that look like they are growing from the ground. They organise fun events throughout the year - check their website for details.”
