Tips from locals
Walk to the lookout point to see great views of the city. Check out a Pyramid to Moses along the way. Take the trail down from the lookout point to see some redwoods. Dogs welcome on leash. There is also a dog park inside the park.
Joaquin Miller Park has hikes, a playground, a baseball diamond and a beautiful fountain and amphitheater with music and musicals (Woodminster Musicals). Great views from the top. Lots of mountain biking trails through the park.
A great, redwood tree filled hike with scenic views of the entire Bay Area along the way. Short and long hikes for all ages!

“An amazing trail system in the Oakland Hills. The park contains the largest remaining natural stand of coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) found in the East Bay. The park is part of a historical belt of coast redwood extending south to Leona Canyon Regional Open Space Preserve and east to Moraga.”

“Marzano's entrees are delicious & a good value, they have big salads, & the pizza's are exceptional. We highly enjoyed the wood fire pizza, steak dinner & salad. There is a nice bar & outdoor seating, wood fire oven & it's kid friendly. There is also a great happy hour menu from 5:30-6:30! ”
