Nice walking paths and area with outside grill to make your own barbecue, rabbits roam free in the forest and nice hiking trails up the cliffs with beautiful view over the town and fjord. Great for children with many playground areas. Also there is biking trail trough the forest witch is popular in Akureyri. The park is located near the cabins so its great place to relax and have great picnic or any other outdoor activity.

Kjarnaskógur woods is a nice recreational area with trails, mountain bike trail, volley ball course, playgrounds as well as a BBQ area.

Kjarna forrest is a very nice and quiet area, if you like to hike or play frisbee golf we highly recommend Kjarna Forrest. You can find the coolest frisbee golf course in Iceland in Kjarnaskógur.
