Why locals recommend it
Just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon Park is an often overlooked urban park that offers some great views. Atop the canyon, you can glimpse views of the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Hollywood Sign and Giffith Observatory. The park also boasts several hiking trails and is a popular spot for celebrities to exercise. Travelers say that the canyon is reminiscent of Old Hollywood with several old mansions and estates scattered throughout the park – keep your eyes peeled as you follow the trail.

If you are staying in LA, and you just want a short scenic hike, I would recommend you to do the Runyon Canyon hike. The hike is of moderate difficulty, and once you get to the top, you can see the entire city of LA.

Right up the street from the building, is the famous Runyon Canyon. Great place for hiking and dog watching, but the highlight is definitely the views. On a clear day, you can see entire Los Angeles spread in front of you. From downtown to the beach. Great trails for running or hiking.

Dog-friendly Runyon Canyon is one of the most popular trails in all of Los Angeles County - but look past the crowds and you'll find lots to love here. Don't be surprised if you spot a celebrity.

“LACMA is definitely one of LA’s coolest attractions. Outside it has the famous row of lights that attract a number of tourists and there’s a lot of other cool art inside that’s worth checking out. It also has a solid (but pricey) outdoor restaurant called Ray’s & Stark Bar, which is great for happy hour or a bite between exhibits. The Jazz at LACMA summer series is a free outdoor performance by SoCal jazz musicians with special appearances in the past by jazz legends like John Clayton, and Billy Childs. What to know before you go: LACMA is open 11am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 11am to 8pm on Friday, and 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.”
