In addition to Haight Street, Divisadero (just a few blocks east) is continually introducing new shops, restaurants, and even entertainment locations. The main concentration of shops is some 6 blocks long, so it's easy to stroll up and down the street in one go.

Close to the "Painted Ladies" square. Great for fooding and drinking (and shopping). Nice to explore between Fell St. and Golden Gate St.

Diner
“Greasy spoon style American restaurant that's only open for breakfast. Portions are hearty and filling. Service and ambience are lackluster, but you don't come here for service or ambience; you come here when you don't want to spend $50 on breakfast, you're hungry, and you don't want to see the word "kale" on the menu. Don't expect real butter or real maple syrup and the corned beef hash definitely comes from a can. There is absolutely nothing wrong with those things; sometimes that's what you're in the mood for. This place is small, with about five bar stools and four tables for two. I think there might be one table that can seat four. ”

“Express bus to downtown for early birds - 30 -35 minutes. Otherwise it could an hour. Hardly worth it if you're time is valuable. Take an Uber. Driving is - 15-20 minutes. More if there's traffic - and there usually is. ”

“Rent some old fashioned roller skates and then skate over to Golden Gate Park. On Sundays and sometimes Saturdays there's a regular crew of skaters not too far from this rental shop. They play music while skating and the scene is also fun to watch.”
