The Roosevelt is a must-see during the holidays. Have a cocktail at one of the bars and take in the Christmas lights.

A local favorite, especially during the Holidays. If you happen to be in New Orleans at that time make sure to take a least one stroll through the hotel to see the beautiful decorations. In addition to the scenery, most locals visit the Roosevelt for The Sazerac Bar, named after the very first cocktail, which was invented in New Orleans, of course. In addition to sazeracs, the bar serves other classic cocktails, such as a Ramos Gin Fizz.

I selected sightseeing because the hotel lobby is so beautiful. That being said there are several notable bars and restaurants and sometimes music here. If you're around at Christmas time, it has a quite famous display that all New Orleanians will make a pilgrimage to every December.

The birthplace of the Sazerac cocktail. Very uptown and elegant place for dress up and a see and be seen hotel bar.
