It's rumored to have the clearest/darkest skies in the world! It sits on a plateau at 2300ft, with large cherry trees helping to reduce light pollution. This is a haven for astronomers and stargazers. This is about 40 minutes “the way the crow flies” from the cabin. On a clear night if you place chairs in the driveway and lean back you will get a pretty spectacular view!

the programs at this center are outstanding. telescopes for visitor use on Fridays and Saturdays in-season. great stuff.
