Only an hour to central Edinburgh. However, parking in the city is expensive and difficult. Suggest take your car to Kinross Park and Ride a get an express coach from there. Quicker then by car!!

Park and ride is the best way to see Edinburgh - a must see beautiful city with a castle on the hill.

Its a stunning Georgian city with oodles of history and much to do. There are great galleries and museums as well as walks and the fabulous castle and ancient High Street. At the foot of the High Street is the Palace of Holyrood, HM Queen Elizabeth's residence in Scotland. You can visit it and also walk in the surrounding area. A fun thing to do is the Tourist bus which allows you to hop on and off and stops at all the good places to visit and gives you info along the way. there are many good restaurants of all standards. JUPITER ARTLAND This is a MUST SEE destination. Its a beautiful sculpture park set in the countryside just outside Edinburgh and only 30 mins from Glenfarg. Many works by seriously famous sculptors and also a great cafe and restaurant. Booking advised. (A new Tracy Emin exhibition and sculpture for 2022) and there's a beautiful swimming pool (must be booked). A fab day out for all ages but best on a sunny day!

You shouldn't leave Scotland without visiting the city of Edinburgh...

Edinburgh is just under an hour away by car, or you can travel by bus from Biggar or by train from Carstairs Junction. It's a vibrant city to visit with so many things to see and do. If you do drive, I would recommend parking at the NCP car park at Castle Terrace. If you visit the National Museum of Scotland (free to visit and a ten minute walk from the cark park), go to the reception and they will give you a ticket to give you discounted parking at the NCP car park - £10 last time I checked. Well worth popping in just for the discounted parking as it can be expensive to leave your car there for the day. If you want more info on things to see and do in Edinburgh, please contact me and I will happily share my suggestions with you. My favourite things to do in Edinburgh besides wandering and soaking up the atmosphere are:- a visit to the Royal Mile Edinburgh Castle Camera Obscura The National Museum of Scotland Arthur's Seat (it's a hill located to the south of the city and offers wonderful views)
