Tips from locals
A great place for views, food is typically quite good. You can visit Sutro Baths as well.
The photo is out of date as remodeled. Historic ocean view restaurant with Lands End parking lots uphill. Do not leave anything of value inside car if driving as car breakins occur all over the city, especially in tourist spots.
Wide windows supply striking ocean views at this casual al-day eatery serving California cuisine Comfort food, healthy options, great dessert.
Beautiful scenic overlook for a relaxing dinner. Great hiking around restaurant.

“Go to Sutro Baths first and then just take the path to the right into the trees and that will take you to Land’s End. I suggest this first because it is just such a beautiful way to take in the west coast of San Francisco. Standing above Sutro Baths, ruins of ancient baths, to the left is the expanse of Ocean Beach and to the right is a grove of trees that hide a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. To walk all the way to the stone labyrinth, I think it’s something like 1.5ish miles round trip and it’s also a great path for jogging.”

“People don't usually think of going to the beach while visiting San Francisco, but incredible on a sunny, warm day. Some of the coolest new cafes, restaurants and bars are a few blocks walk/ride from the beach. Check the temp and the winds before coming out.”

“Literally across the street from the beach, this coffee shop offers your typical pastries, bagels, and coffee, but throws in a few beers on tap. Take a snack to the beach and relax. ”

“The de Young often features traveling exhibits from all over the world. It's in a fantastic modernist building which has a tower that you can go up (free of charge) for a great view of Golden Gate Park and the surrounding city.”
