Tips from locals
Excellent food, and I highly recommend the beignets for dessert. They're mouth watering! Definitely reserve a table in advance if you're not eating an early dinner.
Founding Farmers is a local chain with only a couple locations throughout the DMV and owned by the same pair that owns Farmers, Fishers, Bakers in Georgetown. The menu is SO good and with a lot of options. But be prepared with a reservation or you'll be waiting a while.
The best beignets in DC. Gastronomically renown DC spot. Can get crowded, but yummy.
The restaurant's rustic greenhouse aesthetic, with exposed wood and metal beams, offers a homey welcome. Farm to fork American fare. Especially good for breakfast.

“Katie and Kyle (Airbnb Guests), suggested this restaurant. They said it was fabulous! About the Restaurant: The name “Rasika” is derived from Sanskrit language meaning “flavors”. Rasika West End, which opened in March 2012, is the new sister restaurant to Rasika, the award-winning modern Indian restaurant owned by Ashok Bajaj. Bajaj was recently named by both Washingtonian and Washington City Paper as “Restaurateur of the Year” and nationally, he is a three-time James Beard Foundation nominee for “Restaurateur of the Year”. This exciting newcomer’s decor is created by James Beard Foundation’s award- winning restaurant designer Martin Vahtra of Projects Design Associates of New York. Rasika West End showcases both modern and authentic Indian fare, prepared on the Tawa (griddle), Sigri (open barbeque), as well as Tandoori and regional dishes. The restaurant also has an international wine list designed to pair well with Indian fare. This sophisticated new hot spot is also known for its innovative cocktails, ideal for savoring with small plates in the restaurant’s spacious lounge. A contemporary décor sporting jewel tones, striking Indian art, and the combination of dark and light woods sets off this dynamic space. The major focal point is the eye-catching ceiling, created to resemble a banyan tree a nod to its important role in Indian culture.”

“Excellent Chinese food at a reasonable price. The wrap-around windows give the restaurant a nice open feel . . . or call ahead and carry out.”

“They have dining too, but I prefer to sit at the bar. Upscale sleek decor make this a good place for a date or a couple of friends. Good for Happy Hour. My favorite: DC Brau “The Corruption” IPA.”
