Tips from locals
You may already know Phoenicia Diner but you need to know this place. Must order: pancakes.
Only open Friday-Monday. Everything is phenomenal. My favorite is the homemade corned beef skillet with chorizo, potatoes and eggs... or the Hawaiian pancakes (pineapple & coconut). Cash only. Strong coffee... so I get a pot of tea.
If Phoenicia Diner is packed (which is often) this is a great alternative with the best pancakes I’ve had in the Catskills.

“40 Minutes Away. This is a bit of jaunt but my husband and I like to hike Peekamouse Mountain (it's right by the blue hole and the drive is incredible) and then head over to Phoenica Diner for lunch and then do grocery shopping in Woodstock. The food is solid basics but is kind of a Brooklyn scene as of late (which is totally fine by me but some people get annoyed by Brooklyn-ization of upstate).”

“Newly renovated inn with amazing restaurant and cocktail bar in the lobby along with the coziest wood-burning fireplace setting. Call ahead as it's not always open to the public especially during wedding season.”

“A great local farm stand with more than just produce. Eggs, staple pantry items, a good cheese selection, frozen local meats.”

“Popular regular weekender hangouts and the food can be hit or miss. It's outstanding when it hits but very disappointing when it misses. $$$”
