Tips from locals
It smells so good here. Stop for a coffee or pastry, buy a baguette for your picnic - everything is heavenly. They have a few tables outside but also are across from the waterfront where you can find some benches.
Best Bakery hands down... My personal favorite....Outstanding pastries and breads try a morning roll (buttery caramel roll), spectacular scones or lemon curd tart-let...you can't go wrong with any choice you make!
Awesome deserts and other baked goods. Limited hours, so be sure to check before heading over!
We usually stop at Standard bakery before boarding the ferry boat. It’s just across the street from the terminal and has great coffee, bread and pastry.

“Andy Warhol, Claude Monet and Winslow Homer are among the icons showcased within the Portland Museum of Art. Along with some of the greats, the museum features an extensive collection of American, European and contemporary works, as well as pieces from Maine artists. Paintings abound, but you'll also find photographs, sketches, pottery, furniture, ornate silverware, sculptures and so much more. ”
