Tips from locals
Arguably the best beach in South Zone Rio de Janeiro. Take the metro from local station "Siqueira Campos" to "Nossa Senhora da Paz" Station. When you get to the beach, to the left is Arpoador and on the end of the beach to the right is Leblon.
A brazilian beach famous for the song Garota de Ipanema. It has some bars by the beach.
Viver em Ipanema é uma festa. Sofisticada, com o mais bonito por de sol do Rio, praia maravilhosa, bons restaurantes, comércio forte na Av. Visconde de Pirajá.
Narrower and therefore more crowded than Copacabana Beach, but with a lot of diversity. In the Rio summer, the crowd applauds when the sun sets between the Dois Irmãos (Two Brothers).
Ipanema most fashion neighbour beach has plenty to see, from locals playing volleyball, stalls that sell bikini and beach towels to kiosks that sell snacks and drinks from Coconut water to ubiquitous Caipirinha's, Brazil national Cocktail, made with sugarcane spirit Cachaca muddled with lime.
This beach is full of life. Here people from different parts of Rio meet each other and have fun. At the beach you can buy some food, drinks, sunglass and so on. I recommend to taste Coconnut water ( água de coco) . It's healthy and delicious. You can rent a bike and take a ride until Leblon,…

“I love the vibe of Leblon beach. It is not as crowded as Ipanema and Copacabana, and it´s at the foot of Morro dos Dois Irmãos. Try a Mate tea with lemonade for 5 reais, sold by guys walking with 2 big gallons”
