A lovely place to sit, relax and unwind with your thoughts. Turn right out of the front door and it’s a short walk along the seafront past Southsea Pier and Canoe Lake.
The rose garden in summer is an amazing spectacle of colour and smell, a definite for garden lovers and it has free entry.
On Southsea’s sunny seafront there’s a pretty spot with some compelling history. Actually, there are quite a few. Most of them are fairly well-known (no-one’s going to miss the Naval Memorial), but few Portsmuthians seem to be aware of Lumps Fort. Certainly, almost nobody knows it by that name…
