Lapa is the New Orleans of Rio, in part due to its historic colonial buildings — in other part due to its samba-centric streets! Come here from 9pm onward and you'll find unrivaled street parties, the Carioca Aqueduct and the famous Escadaria Selaró.

Lapa is full of small and big bars, many with live music. One has to be a bit careful there, but it is great fun.

Mountain
“A must visit viewing point in Rio de Janeiro. Absolutely spectacular views all over the City. The ride in a large cable car take just a few minutes and it is done in two stages. First, Praia Vermelha to Urca Hill and after taking another cable car, until Sugar loaf Mountain. Pick a sunny day, so you don't miss anything! ”

Monument / Landmark
“The monument overlooking Rio de Janeiro have beyond breathtaking views. It is considered one of the seven new wonders of the world. There are three ways to get to it. You can take a train, van or hike. The train is the most famous and traditional way. The train will take you through Atlantic Forest almost to the top of the Corcovado Mountain. Make sure to have you camera ready and look to the right when the train is almost in the top. I suggest to pick a beautiful sunny day, so you don't miss any of the spectaculars views. ”
