Why locals recommend it
This was one of L.A.’s first bottle shops—kinda like a grocery store/bar that sells and serves only beer. They have 10 or 15 refrigerated cases, so you can find beers from a specific country or a certain type—like a sour. It can be a little disorganized, like wandering through a record store for beer geeks—great for finding birthday presents for picky people. They have a bunch of board games and a bar, so you can hang out and relax. Get here before 9pm—after that, it gets crowded, and it’s harder to play Connect 4.

Tips from locals
Sunset Beer is an awesome bar and tap-room. If you've never been to a tap-room before, they have rows and rows of individual cans and bottles. Once you make your selection, you can either take it home, or bring it over to the bar area and pay a corkage fee to drink it right there. It means drinks…
Tucked into the corner of a strip mall off Sunset Boulevard, this tasting room won't disappoint if craft beer is your thing.
