Dealey Plaza, built 1934-40, serves as Dallas' western gateway and was the focus of civic pride prior to the tragic event that unfolded on Nov. 22, 1963--the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. One of only two extant Presidential assassination sites.

Dealey Plaza is a city park in the West End district of downtown Dallas, Texas. It is sometimes called the "birthplace of Dallas". It was the location of the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.
