Epic Library, outdoor porches, open, light and airy. Awesome place to hangout and relax, right on the Town Lake.
This place is gorgeous! We have spent mornings here with our kids, listening to music, checking all the different areas, architecture, outdoor spaces, etc. There is also a small restaurant in it. It’s walking distance to the town lake/lady bird lake hike and bike trail, and the renovated Electrical power plant w/ surrounding retail.
This new library got built just a few years ago and is a really a point of civic pride. It’s beautiful. They have an awesome kids floor, a whole series of outdoor gardens and verandas for reading and hanging out, and the building itself inspires wonder on the inside. It has a Hogwarts quality of floating stairways to nowhere. If you’re downtown on the Hike & Bike Trail, this is a good stop off as you circle the river. Another thing we like to pair with a trip to the library . . .

You wouldn't think the new library would be a tourist destination, but trust me, it's something to see! You can also grab a bite to eat in the cafe.
