Ocean Beach

The north end of the beach is fronted by a low curving wall that’s an always-changing display of street art. Further south at Lincoln Way, there’s another one worth checking out. Just bring an extra layer—no matter what the weather is like in the rest of the city, out here you might walk into a fog bank so thick you can't see the water. At the north end of the beach near the Cliff House restaurant, take a look inside the Camera Obscura—a rare device that uses sunlight to project an image of the outside surroundings onto a surface inside. It’s based on a 15th century design by Leonardo da Vinci.

I was born and raised in San Francisco, and I’m a street artist who creates colorful abstract patterns through the use of spray paint. My work can be seen both in the Bay Area and abroad.

Take a stroll across the dunes to beautiful Ocean Beach. A wonderful place to catch a glorious sunset on clear days. Great waves during the fall and winter months for surfing if you know what you're doing. Tricky conditions, be careful.

Bring a jacket as it's often windy and at least a little chilly, but this is a very beautiful long beach.
