“Corfu Town like any other medieval city is built between 2 fortresses, now known as the old and the new. The Old Venetian Fortress, a UNESCO listed monument is worth a visit. There is a delightful sea front restaurant inside (left route after main entrance) which is the locals' secret, as well as a cafe with sea views at its main square. Make sure to climb to the summit, the view will compensate your effort!”

[13] Inside the bastion there is a large number of curved chambers, ventilation wells, stairs, ramps and two baroque-style gates. On the west side there is a narrow moat with perfect architecture extending from the vegetable market to the new port. ”
