South Mountain Park and Preserve is the largest municipal park in the United States, and one of the largest urban parks in North America and in the world. There are more than 20 trailhead entrances. It's a 24-minute drive, 9.6 miles to the closest (Central Avenue) entrance.
Great hiking and scenic views all along the South Mountain preserves. The end of the road at 27th Ave, 19th Ave 7th st and Central all put you right at great trails. You can find more info online about specific trails and difficulty levels.
South Mountain Park has over16,000 acres of hiking trails, there are several trailheads within just a few minutes drive of the property. There is an option to drive for an all age group outing, the views are natural made selfie stations!
