Tennessee Valley Trailhead

Why locals recommend it

You can’t miss the trailhead for this easy 3.5 mile out-and-back hike or run—it’s in a parking lot at the end of Tennessee Valley Road. You start on a paved road that’s closed to traffic, then becomes a dirt fire road, and continues down a scenic, flat valley to Tennessee Valley Beach—a great spot to watch the waves roll in or have a picnic. Runners will enjoy the San Francisco Running Co. store in the nearby shopping center on Shoreline in Mill Valley. The staff are all accomplished runners and are knowledgeable on all aspects of running and footwear.

The jumping off point to tons of walks and trails for all types. Get lost in the hills without any disruptions of city life or noise. You'll get completely immersed in nature. It's beautiful.

Great hikes. Either to the ocean or go up to the bluff for panoramic views.

A variety of trails from flat to mountainous, along the coast or thru the valley to the beach. Trails lead south to Muir Beach or north to Marin Headlands.

4 mile (round trip) trail leading you out to the beach. Mostly fire roads, good for the entire family.
